Damaraland in Namibia is famous for spectacular natural rock formations and one of the most dramatic of these is the Vingerklip - meaning Finger of Stone.
The valley around this phenomenon was formed by a glacier more than 300 million years ago and is known as the Ugab Terraces.
Since then, the wind carved out this beautiful sculpture in this place of beautiful sunsets.
Not far from the route from the Skeleton Coast to the Etosha National Park, this is not only an ideal stopover, but also a central base from which the other attractions of Damaraland can be explored.
Vingerklip Lodge Accommodation
Perched on a rocky plateau with breathtaking views over the Ugab Terraces and Finger of Stone, is the Vingerklip Lodge, providing a luxurious and serene experience in this fascinating landscape.
A total of 25 units are available, from double rooms through family suites to one ultra luxury suite.
The thatched units were built using local stone and have ceiling fans, mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms. A safe is available for your valuables.

Double Rooms
The twelve Double Rooms are furnished with two single beds, which can be converted into a Queen size bed, under a mosquito net.
Air-conditioner and an en-suite bathroom with a shower add to the comfort and luxury. The private balcony provides sweeping views of the Ugab valley.

Family Rooms
There are twelve family rooms available, accommodating two children or 1 adult on a double bed on the mezzanine level.
Two single beds or a queen size double bed on the ground floor are under a mosquito net and air-conditioner.
The en-suite bathroom has a shower and the balcony affords beautiful views over the valley.
Take note that the mezzanine level is accessed via steep steps and is not specifically safe for small children.

Luxury Suite - Heaven's Gate
Situated on top of the Ugab Terraces, the Vingerklip Lodge's luxury suite, called Heaven's Gate offers exclusivity and solitude for those who want to get away from the world.
This romantic suite can be reached via a short mountain walk and a climb of 25 metres on a metal staircase.
This is not recommended for those with walking difficulties and limited mobility.

Two fully licensed restaurants offer delicious cuisine, which can be enjoyed while immersed in the breathtaking views and spectacular sunsets.
The Eagles Nest Restaurant provides an exclusive experience of African dinners at this setting which is reached via a short mountain walk and a climb of 25 metres up a metal staircase.
Those with limited mobility might not be able to reach this restaurant. Only 20 guests can be accommodated at Eagles Nest, so it's crucial to book in advance.
