The north-western corner of Namibia is known as the Kunene Region and this whole Kaokoland area is one of very few true wilderness areas remaining in the world.
The arid landscapes with rugged mountains and ancient, dry riverbeds are something to behold.
The Khowarib gorge is just one of many breathtaking gorges where the ephemeral river took millions of years to carve out a route to the sea.
On the banks of the Hoanib River, the Khowarib Lodge nestles between the trees, providing views on the cliffs on the opposite side of the river. The traditional building style creates the perfect ambiance for luxury living in a remote setting.
