On the banks of the Orange River, which forms the natural border between South Africa and Namibia, you will find Orange River Lodge.
The lodge is situated in the border town of Noordoewer - Namibia, next to the BP petrol station, approximately 1 km from the Namibian border post.
Orange River Lodge is perfectly located between Cape Town and Windhoek to offer travellers a welcome rest.
Orange River Lodge Accommodation
Orange River lodge borders the Ai-Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Conservation Park which spans some of the most spectacular scenery of the arid and desert environments in southern Africa. The park is characterised by a unique and impressive variety of plant species.
Rooms
For those who prefer self-catering accommodation, the Lodge offers 4 double rooms. An additional 3 family rooms can each accommodate 4 persons. Both room options are en suite and offer air-conditioning, television and tea/coffee-making facilities.
Experience true Namibian hospitality in the thatched Lapa where delectable meals (a la carte) are served or get to know fellow travellers in the convivial bar.

Activities
Fishing
The Orange River offers excellent fishing all year round for conventional bait and fly fishermen alike. Fifteen different species of fish are found in our area but the species mainly targeted are: Carp, Sharptooth Catfish (barbel), Yellowfish.
Canoeing
Orange River Lodge has canoes available for rent but we can also arrange canoe trips of 2 - 5 days which is the most adventurous way to explore the river and its spectacular surroundings.
The Orange River is home to a large number of fish species (especially carp, sharp tooth catfish and yellow fish), so why not try your hand at angling? You can rent the necessary fishing tackle from the Orange River Lodge.
Other Activities
For tourists with an interest in Namibian history there are a number of interesting sites to visit. Visit areas where historic battles took place during the Nama Rebellion of 1904 to 1908. Graves of German Colonial Soldiers and the ruins of buildings built by them can be seen at Uhabis.
