Apulit Island, located in Taytay, Northern Palawan, offers an idyllic getaway for those in search of a tropical paradise. The sprawling resort is set within a pristine cove with a wide expanse of white sand beach lined with coconut palm trees. It boasts of an unspoiled location and showcases a wealth of wildlife, colorful tropical fishes, and scenic landscapes.

Apulit Island’s 50 water cottages, built in traditional architecture mixed with contemporary design, invite guests to simply relax and bask in the serenity of the island. Guests can swim and snorkel at the resort’s house reef, which teems with marine life, or enjoy a dip in the newly built swimming pool. Another attraction is the 60 meters high limestone cliff for rappelling, which boasts of a great view of cove.

Accommodations

Apulit Island has 50 cottages that combine traditional Filipino architectural style with contemporary design. The cottages are built on stilts, perched above the sea with an unobstructed view of Palawan’s azure Taytay Bay, surrounding islands, and dramatic limestone cliffs. There are 30 Water Cottages built around the main cove of the island. Each Water Cottage has a 26sqm floor area and can accommodate a maximum of two persons. Twenty Loft Water Cottages, built in two clusters of ten, are located on the western cove. Each two level Loft Water Cottages has direct access to the sea from its private veranda. It has a total floor area of 60sqm and fits four persons.

Water Cottage Water Cottages are ideal for couples where Double Bed or Twin Beds may be set p. Each of Apulit’s 30 Water Cottages are built on stilts with a private verandah overlooking the bay.
Loft Water Cottage The Loft Water Cottage room has a loft and a staircase that can give you direct access to the water underneath the rooms. A Double bed may be set p in the loft and two Day beds may be set-up in the ground floor.

Dining

Apulit Island serves only sustainable menus. During meals, guests will enjoy salad greens organically grown from our gardens. International cuisine and local dishes are offered at the Clubhouse Restaurant. Fresh seafood catch of the day are also offered on the grill.

Private Picnic Lunch A private picnic lunch may be arranged at the West Beach and at nearby Isla Blanca.

Beach Dinner at Apulit Island A festive mood, powder-soft sand on your feet, and the sound of waves gently lapping at the beach create a memorable dining experience under the stars.

Scuba Diving and Marine Sports There are 10 diving sites around Apulit Island. Apulit Island is a PADI Resort Center with a complete line of diving equipment and offers a variety of dive courses. Snorkeling, kayaking, hobie-cat sailing, and windsurfing are also offered at the resort.
Discover Nature Snorkel at the house reef and swim with the friendly baby black tip sharks or the blue spotted stingrays in Apulit. Kayak around Apulit Island and discover crevices and secret caves hidden amidst the limestone cliffs. Take a sunset cruise around Taytay Bay. Go stargazing. Stellar wonders like the North Star, the Southern Cross, and other heavenly formations in the Milky Way, which may not be seen in the night skies of other countries, can be clearly viewed from Taytay.

Rappelling Climb up the majestic limestone cliff, enjoy the view of the cove and the marine life below, and rappel 60 meters down from Apulit’s cross.
Cave Exploration Conquer the five caves of Apulit Island and swim in Lobster Cave. The only cave where guest can swim in North Cave.
Special Events Apulit Island also caters to weddings, meetings, team-building and other corporate events.

Directions to Apulit Island Resort

Apulit Island is beautifully secluded in Taytay Bay, and is approximately 1 hour travel time via boat from Taytay Town Port. There are two options accessing Apulit Island

1. From Manila via El Nido, Palawan Island Transvoyager Inc. (ITI) offers daily flights from Manila to El Nido, Palawan. Travel time is approximately 55-minutes using a 50-seater ATR aircraft. Flight reservations on ITI may be made through El Nido Resorts. From Lio airport in El Nido, guests will take an hour and 30 minutes van ride to Taytay Town Port. A 50-minute boat transfer to Apulit Island from Taytay Town Port follows.

2. From Manila to Puerto Princesa, Palawan Taytay is also accessible via Puerto Princesa City. Taytay Town Port is a 4-hour drive from Puerto Princesa City. El Nido Resorts arranges van transfers from Puerto Princesa for a minimum fee of around PhP 2,000.00 per passenger per way. The shuttle leaves Puerto Princesa Airport at 10:00 AM and arrives in Taytay Town Port at 2:30 PM daily. Likewise, the shuttle leaves 10:00AM from Taytay Town Port and arrives in Puerto Princesa at 2:00PM daily. Resort Apulit Island is a 45 minute boat ride from Ramisan Jetty. From there, it is a further 10 minute jeepney ride to Cesar Lim Rodriguez Airport.
