Coron Village Lodge CORON VILLAGE LODGE started as an old 5 room family house. The owners transferred to Manila when the children were in high school, in pursuit of better education for them. The house was left to a housekeeper and a gardener who took care of the house and the premises as though the owners were present. After some years, a few travelers who came to Coron started asking if they could lodge in the house, there being no lodging house in town. |

Guests started coming in with just the housekeeper attending to them.Finally, it was decided that the house be turned into a real lodge. Additional rooms were built and now Coron Village Lodge has 25 rooms and a 5-door apartment building. A function room, a restaurant and a souvenir shop have been added and, hopefully, more rooms will be added soon. The old garden is still lush and beautiful. The rooms, each with a private toilet and bath and airconditioning, are well maintained. The resto bar has been renovated and artistically designed by Willot, the owners’ younger son, who now manages the establishment. The garden and wide yard provide sitting areas and shady space.The staff are hard-working. They maintain the rooms and the premises, keeping them spic and span. Many guests have praised the staff for the cleanliness of the lodge, the helpful attitude and their friendly smiles. The motto, Be happy and keep the guests happy. The lodge is a non-star lodge. But in a small town which Coron is, Coron Village Lodge shines like a star. |

Restaurant The restaurant serves good food, and as one regular Italian customer says every time, “The best Filipino food in town!”. The bar serves beer, cocktails, juices, shakes and soft drinks. The ambience of the resto-bar is worth mentioning here. Moonlight nights in the garden well, check it out. We don’t have this in the city, right? Enjoy good food, a wide range of drinks and music that creates a relaxing ambiance amidst a collection of international travel souvenirs. |

Tour DestinationsTwin Lagoons Located in the midst of majestic cliffs, a two and a half meters wide hole connects two beautiful lagoons. During high tide, it is an exciting adventures to swim through the hole, during low tide the hole can be seen and it is easier to swim through it. Siete Picados A marine sanctuary composed of seven islets and its surrounding waters. A very good snorkeling area - the massive corals are a sight to enjoy and the swim among the fish is great excitement. Ruyukan This is a mangrove passage which is an excellent Kayaking area. One could kayak though the main passage and go into the small passages lined with mangrove on both sides. From Ruyukan, the kayaker journey goes to a hot spring half hidden by thick mangroves or to Decalve Marine Park. Mt. Darala The highest mountain in Coron is good for trekking and bird watching. The adventurer bird-watches early morning at the foot of the mountain then takes the 3 hour climb to the top, from where one could see a panoramic view of the islands. |

Marile Coral Garden Just 10 minutes from Lusong is the Marile Coral Garden. For many years the family living at the Marile shores protected the corals from poachers and illegal fishers, and planted giant clams. The coral garden has become one of the most beautiful in the area. If lucky, one might even spot a sea turtle among the corals. The giant clams, when open, look like and exotic flower, but warning, don’t touch, it could snap close and cut your finger. Makinit Hot Spring A 43° hot spring, quite hot really. The owners built huge circular pool to contain the Sulfuric hot water from two small springs at the foot of a mountain. The pool then flows into the sea. A salve tired muscles after a long day of touring, and also a relief for rheumatic and aching bodies. Lusong Shipwreck A World War II shipwreck lies in the waters of Lusong and has become a favorite snorkeling destination. The ship is thickly encrusted with corals and is a habitat of a variety of fish. A little on, one fined a trove of beautiful corals covering about a kilometers long. Dicantuman Beach A slice of
paradise, a newly discovered beach of the southwest side of Coron Island
and developed very simply to blend with its beautiful nature. With fine
white sand, clear emerald waters, majestic cliffs, a rainforest, shady
trees, water-sculpted rocks. Find serenity in a shady nook, nap in a hammock,
sit on an EZ chair facing the wide blue sea. Raft around or ask a Tagbanua
to paddle you around in his small “sibid-sibid” boat over
corals, along the rocky coast, and on the next beach. Or go fishing if
the sea is calm, the area is in the fishing grounds of the Tagbanuas.
Or wade and soak and swim. |

Cayangan Lake A beautiful enchanting lake enclosed by limestone cliffs and hardy greenery. Used to be enchanted, as the legend goes. The Tagbanuas, the tribe who live on Coron Island, believed the spirits of their ancestors dwelled at the lake. To open up the lake to the public, some rites were performed in order to transfer the spirits to the biggest and highest lake on the island, the inaccessible and the forbidden Cabugao Lake, still forbidden. The lake is a three time winner as the cleanest lake in the Philippines, and thus is a hall-of-famer. Calomboyan Island/Pass Island These are two beautiful beaches near each other’s on the Busuanga side. Calomboyan is cool and shady as big trees grow near the shore. Pass Island may not be very green at the moment as coconut and other trees are still young (this is a recently developed beach) but the developer has put up tents that provide shade. The beach is very white and wide and almost covers the whole circumference of the island, and has good swimming area. Calauit Animal Sanctuary This is a quite interesting destination, especially for children. The giraffes are friendly and feeding them with a branch of “Maluwandit” is a great delight. The drawback, however, is the very bumpy road and the dangerous bridges on the way to Calauit. Nor for the fragile and delicate tourist but great fun for the adventure-seekers. Barracuda Lake Another beautiful
lake, not included on most of our packages, but guest may request a stopover
thereat. However, they have to pay the additional P100.00 entrance fee.
Barracuda Lake is a favorite of divers who wish to experience the thermoclime,
the meeting of the cool waters from above and the warm waters from the
hot springs in the lake bed. |

Atwayan Beach and Banul Beach Just 20 minutes from town, these beaches are two of the favorite beach destinations on Coron Island. The white sand is fine. The Tagbanuas sift the sand to remove pebbles and small debris. These two beaches have good swimming area. Other Destinations There is a lot of beautiful places in the Busuanga Manicipality side, Caramiana Beach, Cashew Grove Resort, Ocam-ocam, the small but beautiful Concepcion Falls hidden in the midst of the forest of the forest, South Cay and North Cay and others, mostly not yet well developed but with great potential. The Coron side, too, has places that could provide adventure and fun if developed. |
