Five Gables House B&B Accommodation

A former golf clubhouse with 3 en-suite rooms. Our elevated position offers panoramic views of the golf course and the eastern coastline in our dining area, guest lounge and in 2 of our rooms. All our spacious rooms come with digital TV/Video, PS2 DVD/CD player, books and hospitality trays. The guest lounge also has TV/Video and DVD facilities, where you will also find a selection of videos, books, PS2 games and board games.

Our visitor information is second to none, detailing all the visitor attractions and events in the Angus and Dundee area, with prices, opening times, etc. This family run guest house is located not far from the town centre and only 2 minutes walk from the beach.

Secure facilities are available for guests with fishing tackle, cycles and motor cycles. And we have a large car park that can accommodate HGV vehicles or cars with trailers.

Where's Arbroath
As a popular tourist destination and still an active fishing port and marina, Arbroath is serviced by an extensive road, bus and rail network.We are situated just off the main A92 road on the right hand side as you enter Arbroath, coming from the South.

Coming from the north or south, look out for our Scottish Tourist Board signs as you approach the Elliot Roundabout in Arbroath. Take the exit road to the Arbroath Golf Club off this roundabout. Then 10 metres along the golf club road, take a right signposted Five Gables B&B. Continue up the hill until you reach our car park next to the entrance.

West Links
The West Links (10 minutes walk away) on the seafront offers a great day out for the family.

Activities provided include an adventure play park, mini cars and bike track, amusement arcade, burger
bar, paddling pool, crazy golf, putting course, pitch and putt, trampolines and tennis courts, all
overlooking the beach. You will also find a road train here, taking you into various parts of the
town for a small fee. Kerr's Miniature railway, the oldest small gauge railway in Scotland, and Jumpin
Joeys Family Entertainment Centre are also close by.

Hospitalfield House was the first art college in Britain""Built in 1772, St Johns Church is the only octagonal styled church left in Scotland""St Vigeans Church dates back to the 11th century"For anyone who appreciates stone carving, a visit to the Mortuary Chapel at Arbroath's Western cemetery is a must.

This building is virtually unparalleled in Scotland for its quality and variety of its carvings in stone. The stonemason, a Mr John Peters was a craftsman of the highest calibre. The exterior of this building can be viewed all year round. Guests wishing to view its equally remarkable interior stone carvings can do so at certain times of the year during the national Doors Open Days. Viewing its interior is also sometimes possible on request.

Historic buildings in the Angus and Dundee area include the 12th century Arbroath Abbey and Hospitalfield House which dates back to the 1200's. The 1000 year old round tower of Brechin, 11th century priory of Restenneth, 1500 year old earthhouses, some of the oldest churches in Scotland, old mills and castles.

DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre
From Tourist Information Centre turn left at traffic lights onto A92 Dundee Road. Proceed out of town for approximately 1 mile. House is on the left through Elliot village on top of hill overlooking golf course.

Getting There by Railway
From Arbroath Railway Station turn left down Keptie Street to T Junction. Turn right along Millgate Loan to end then turn right on A92 to Dundee. Proceed about 2 miles. House is on the left through Elliot village on top of hill overlooking golf course.

Getting there by Aeroplane
From Aberdeen Airport through Aberdeen to A90 signposted to Dundee. Turn off A90 at Brechin and take the A983 to Arbroath. On entering Arbroath follow signs for Dundee (1st right then 2nd right). Proceed down road for approximately 2 miles to join A92 Arbroath to Dundee Road. Turn right and proceed for approximately 1 mile towards Dundee. House is on the left through Elliot village on top of a hill overlooking golf course.

From Edinburgh airport proceed to the Forth Road Bridge take the M90 to Perth then take the A90 to Dundee, then the A92 to Arbroath, the house is approximately 1mile before Arbroath at the right hand side of the road overlooking the golf course.
