Braeriach
House is a comfortable, spacious holiday home with ample accommodation
for 7 people in 4 bedrooms, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Aviemore,
within easy walking distance of the village centre.
Heating, linen and towels are provided. The rental also includes WiFi
throughout the house, satellite TV in the lounge and TV with Freeview
channels and DVD players in the main and twin bedrooms.
They have house membership of Dalfaber Country Club.
They provide bed linen, towels and tea towels, so that you can just walk
in and settle down. There will be a welcome pack of food in the kitchen,
including tea, coffee and sugar, oatcakes and marmalade.
Time enough for shopping when you have recovered from your journey...If
you bring outdoor equipment, or your things get wet or muddy, they can
be kept in the garden shed, which has a lock. Go for a walk with them
through the house and garden, and around some of the places nearby.

DOWNSTAIRS
Entrance Porch:
Inside the porch you will find a cupboard, containing cleaning and maintenance
equipment. There are some hooks for hanging of jackets.
Hallway: The central heating controls are on the wall
and there is a small bathroom under the stairs.
There is WiFi available throughout the house.
Lounge: There are couches, chairs and various tables
and stools in the lounge. There is a large screen TV,connected to a SKY
dish, with a separate DVD player. They have sports and movie channels.
The radio reception is not good in this area but the CD player is fine
for CDs.
There are games - Cards, Monopoly, Scrabble, draughts and chess - as well
as maps and leaflets on local walks.
Dining Room: There is a dining table and chairs, and
a sideboard. The patio doors open out on to the garden.
Kitchen: The kitchen is well-equipped, the appliances
include fridge, freezer, dishwasher, gas hob and a double electric oven,
small microwave and electric kettle. There is a table and chairs and various
pots and pans and crockery are in cupboards. There are also tea towels
in kitchen drawers.
Utility Room: Here you will find the washing machine
and an iron, pegs and clothes basket. There are cupboards containing useful
items to make your stay comfortable.
Bedroom 1 with ensuite (facing front): This has a double
bed. There are two bed side tables with lamps, a chest of drawers and
dressing table and a fitted wardrobe. The small TV receives Freeview channels,
and there is a DVD player.The ensuite has W.C., shower unit and sink,
shaving point and bathroom cabinet.
Bedroom 2 (also facing front):
There are two single beds in this room. It is furnished for two people.
There is a TV with a DVD player and a Freeview box.
Bedroom 3 (facing back):
This room has a double bed and is furnished for two people. There is a
velux window with blind. (See photo on right.)
Bedroom 4 (facing back): This is basically a child's
bedroom but could be used by an adult; it has one single bed.
Bathroom: There is a bath with shower unit, sink and
w.c. Also a bathroom cabinet and shaver unit. There is a velux window
overlooking the back garden.
Activities:
Aviemore offers a tremendous choice of activities for both young and old.
Principal activities include climbing, skiing, sailing or kayaking in
Loch Morlich and Loch Insh, fishing (subject to permit), quad biking or
mountain biking, swimming or exercising in the new Aviemore Leisure Centre.
There are excellent walking facilities throughout the Cairngorm region
to suit all fitness levels and ranger-led activities in the nearby Rothiemurchus
Estate.For golf enthusiasts there is an excellent choice of courses available
suitable for all levels eg. championship standard courses at Spey Valley
and Nairn and shorter but still attractive and challenging courses at
Boat of Garten, Grantown on Spey, Newtonmore and Kingussie all within
half an hour's drive.
For younger children there is an abundance of leisure
centres throughout the area including Landmark at Carrbridge, Aviemore
Centre, Dalfaber and Colymbridge.For wildlife enthusiasts there is the
nearby Osprey Colony at Loch Garten, herds of deer, red squirrels and
occasionally otters, badgers, pine martens, eagles, falcons and buzzards.
There is an excellent choice of restaurants and pubs
in the village and in the Cairngorm area to suit all tastes and pockets.Cairngorms

Location:
Braeriach is a modern 2-storey house. It is situated on the Lochan Mor
estate, off the main A9 road at the north end of Aviemore.When you turn
into Lochan Mor, turn left at the small junction, then left again. Braeriach
is the third house on the right (12 Mitchell Road).You can park in the
driveway.
Getting to Braeriach House
Travelling to Aviemore You can reach Aviemore by public transport or by
car:
By Train:You can travel to Aviemore by train; it is on
the main line to Inverness from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
By Bus: Aviemore is just off the A9 - the main road between
Perth and Inverness. There are buses southwards to Aviemore from Inverness
bus station, and northwards from Glasgow (Buchanan) and Edinburgh bus
stations.
By Air You can fly to Glasgow, Edinburgh or Inverness
(small airport) and then continue by train, bus or car to Aviemore.
By Car: Aviemore is just off the A9 - the main road between
Perth and Inverness.From the south, if you pass through
Edinburgh, follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge and Perth; if coming
from Glasgow, head for Stirling on the M8 and M80 and then follow the
M9/A9 for Perth. From Perth, take the A9 north passing Pitlochry and Newtonmore.The
turning for Aviemore is on the right, after Kincraig. If you get to Carrbridge,
you have gone too far!From the north, follow the A9 south
from Inverness, passing Carrbridge. The turning for Aviemore is on the
left. If you get to Kincraig, you have gone too far!
