Woodcroft self catering cottages are unique, but all share the same trademarks
of charm, warmth, style and most of all attention to the detail needed
for visitors staying from two days to weeks or more.
Woodcroft Cottages Self Catering Accommodation
Woodcroft Cottages self catering properties are fully equipped
and have:
Solid wood flooring or high quality carpeting, central heating, television,
radio alarm clock, hairdryer, shaving point. In addition, our self catering
properties have modern fitted kitchens (equipped with washing machine,
microwave, fridge/freezer) and bathrooms (bath and electric shower).
All sitting rooms have sofas and supportive armchairs; a small library,
some games and toys and a small child's chair.
Woodcroft Cottage:
Sleeps 4 - Large double bedroom, twin bedroom. Woodcroft Cottage is within
the walled garden of the owner’s Victorian sandstone town house,
built before the era of cars.
A large area in front of the cottages allowed the horse and carriage enough
space to turn - oh for the days of no cars! Relive it at Woodcroft.
Leave your car at home and we shall order the carriages!
Alternatively, a five minute walk will take you to all sorts of marvelous
facilities for dining in the evening.
Woodcroft Cottage is a stone's throw from Ayr town centre, beach and
railway.It is beside Stable Cottage, making it an ideal self catering
property for larger parties wishing to be in different cottages but next
door to each other with interconnecting gardens.
The colourful cottage garden is walled and totally enclosed.
On the patio, a large extendable garden table with chairs can sit as many
as 12 people.
This is ideal for parties or when two families share the Stable and Woodcroft
Cottages.
A barbeque is also available.
As the garden is facing west, it is bathed in sunshine for most of the
day.
At Woodcroft, the best part of the day in the summer months is the evening.
No matter what the day has been like, it usually turns out sunny in the
late afternoon and evening.
This self catering property is all on one level and is suitable for partially-abled
people.

The lounge has a central fireplace & gas fire, one 3 seat + one 2
seat sofas, one upright chair. A modern fitted kitchen has dining table
+ 4 chairs with modern appliances.
The bathroom has a bath, electric shower and shaving point).
The conservatory overlooks the garden.
Woodcroft Cottage has baby/ child equipment: cot, play pen, high and low
chairs, small child's chairs, toys, rocking horse, a library of books,
games (i.e. monopoly, scrabble, dominoes, playing cards), as well as a
barbeque all available on request. There is parking on the private driveway.
Location:
All properties are warm, bright and sunny. The owner has selected the
self catering properties specially with the holiday maker in mind.
Each Ayrshire property is in a quiet location with private parking; most
have enclosed walled gardens.
The Woodcroft Cottages in Ayrshire are just a five minute walk from the
beach where you can enjoy walking along a stunning coast line.
They are also only minutes away from the bustle of a lively town centre
with absolutely everything - shops, theatre, pubs, discos and excellent
foodie places that cater for all tastes and budgets.
Woodcroft Cottages quality self catering holiday cottages and apartments
are ideally situated for exploring Burns Country, golfing on world famous
Links Golf Courses, or simply enjoying the stunning coastline.
Prestwick airport is 10 minutes away by train and Glasgow airport is
only one hour away. Edinburgh is a 2 hour journey and offers a wonderful
day out.
Directions:
By car:
From the south, follow the A74/M74 (direction Glasgow) until Gretna. Then
pick up the A75 to Dumfries, the A76 to Cumnock and the A70 to Ayr. A
beautiful alternative route is the scenic Galloway Tourist Route along
the A713.
From the north, just head south towards Glasgow and pick up the M77/A77.
At the junction between the A77 and the A70, turn right into Ayr.
Stay on Holmston Road (A70) all the way into Ayr - the River Ayr is on
the right.
At a large double roundabout (opposite the station) turn LEFT & then
immediately RIGHT.
The road crosses the railway line into Ayr town centre.
At the BP PETROL STATION, follow the one way system round to the LEFT;
go down the hill, turn LEFT at the traffic lights into Beresford Terrace;
after 100 metres fork RIGHT at the school into Midton Road. After the
junction with the first road on the right (Bellevue Road), Woodcroft House
is the second property on the right and Woodcroft Cottage is the fourth
property on the right. Stable Cottage is the 3rd property on the right.
By train:
Ayr is on a main line from Glasgow (Central Station). Trains run every
30 minutes (60 minutes on Sundays) and the journey takes about 45 minutes.
Ayr Station is 400 metres from Woodcroft Cottage. Taxis wait on the main
road outside (short journey)
On foot: cross the square; pass the Odeon cinema; turn left in front of
the Royal Bank of Scotland (into Beresford Terrace); and follow the pavement;
after 100 metres fork right at the school into Midton Road. After the
junction with the first road on the right (Bellevue Road), Woodcroft House
is the second property on the right, Stable Cottage is the third property
on the right and Woodcroft Cottage is the fourth property on the right.
By air:
From Prestwick Airport to Stable Cottage is about 5 miles.
By car: turn left on leaving the airport and travel straight through the
towns of Prestwick and Ayr. Approaching Ayr town centre, when you see
Lidl and Brantano shops on the right, prepare to turn right at the large
roundabout with the Police Station on the corner - turn right. Then turn
left, cross the River Ayr and go straight through the town centre.
When the shops finish, go 1 more mile along a tree lined road; the Ellisland
Hotel is on a corner on the left – turn left there into Bellevue
Road; go to the top and turn right into Midton Road. Woodcroft House is
the second property on the right, Stable Cottage is the third property
on the right and Woodcroft Cottage is the fourth property on the right.
By train: from the Station at Prestwick airport to Ayr station is a 5
minute journey. Then see directions above.
From Glasgow Airport (about 40 miles)
By car: leave the airport on the M8 following the signs
to Glasgow City Centre and Kilmarnock. Next leave the M8 at Junction 24
and follow the signs to Kilmarnock. After a short but slow journey through
built up areas, you should join the M77 to Kilmarnock and Ayr. Then follow
the directions above for car travel above.
By train: from the airport, get to Paisley station either by taking the
shuttle bus (£1.50, but can be refunded at the train station if
you ask the bus driver for a transfer ticket) or a taxi (approximately
£5). Trains from Paisley to Ayr (£5.50) run every 30 minutes
and the journey takes about 40 minutes. From Ayr station follow the directions
above.
