Standing proudly on the Ayrshire coastline, Fairfield House Hotel is a
magnificent Victorian mansion which has recently been given a major refurbishment.
Once the country home of a Glasgow tea merchant this is now a stunning seafront hotel near to Glasgow Prestwick Airport and Ayr Racecourse.
Privately owned by George Martin, an Ayr born accountant and entrepreneur, the Fairfield Hotel is well respected locally for accommodation, food, leisure facilities and conferences.
The hotel is a sister company to the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow, one of the few privately owned theatres in the country.
The ground floor of the building, including the reception area, bar and restaurant has been completely renovated, creating a stylish but not ultra-modern look that blends in perfectly with the hotel’s striking exterior on the edge of Ayr’s Low Green, looking out over the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran.
Fairfield House Hotel Accommodation
With its Fairfield suite and boardroom, the 44-bedroom hotel also hosts conferences, seminars and weddings, and can cater for up to 150 delegates or guests.
Fairfield Rooms:
All of our 44 en-suite bedrooms are beautifully furnished and
decorated to the highest standard.
The hotel offers a blend of traditional and the more modern, with additional
facilities including air conditioning (15 rooms) and now FREE WI-FI is
available throughout the hotel.
A small selection of our rooms offer stunning sea-views over to Arran. Availability of these Superior rooms is limited and they can be booked for a small supplement. These rooms are extremely large with high ceilings, they also have large bathrooms.
In 2010 we refurbished an additional 4 executive rooms with luxurious modern decor and soft furnishings to give the hotel a balanced mix of contemporary and traditional style of rooms.
In 2007 we refurbished 6 bedrooms in a more contemporary and modern style with the addition of a courtyard suite.
The courtyard suite offers a bedroom and separate lounge
complete with LCD TV's and a spa bath and separate double shower in the
bedroom.
This room is also suitable for families as it has two luxurious leather
armchair beds. We also have a further four family rooms in the hotel suitable
for up to two adults and two children.
Cots are available on request and can be added to your booking if you
book from this website.
Our Stunning Honeymoon Suite is the Carnegie Suite.
The Suite offers a spacious traditional style bedroom complete with hand
carved Four Poster bed.
The room has a large wall mounted LCD wall mounted TV, perfect for those
lazy days lying in bed watching television with Room Service catering
to your every whim.
The bathroom also offers a huge spa bath and spacious shower.
All of our rooms come complete with full tea and coffee facilities, trouser presses, irons available on request or in some rooms and luxury toiletries in the bathroom.
We guarantee your room will be available from 2pm on the day of your
arrival.
We do our best to accommodate early arrivals but we never guarantee it
as the hotel does run close to capacity most nights.
If you really need to check in early we would advise that you book the
room for the previous night.
Check-out time is 11am.
In line with current legislation we operate a strict no smoking policy
throughout the hotel.
Standard Room Executive Room Superior Room Carnegie Suite:
Twin or double beds, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, tea/coffee
making facilities and television
Larger beds with more spacious rooms and bathrooms with all the facilities
of a standard room.
These rooms are mostly in the original house.
King Size beds in the largest rooms in the hotel, with huge bathrooms.
All have sea-views.
This is our only room with Four Poster Bed and Spa Bath.

Restaurants:
The Fairfield House Hotel's guests enjoy excellent cuisine and comfort
in our atmospheric, award-winning Martin's Bar & Grill.
The restaurant, lounge, bar and decking area were transformed in 2005
with a refurbishment. The hotel now boasts a modern and comfortable dining
and relaxing area which is ideal for corporate, relaxed or formal dining.
The restaurant, bar and lounge are completed by artworks from Peter Howson
and Frank McFadden.
Fairfield House Hotel in Ayr has gained two rosettes from the AA for its
cuisine.
This accolade has been held for a number of years now and we are proud
to maintain these high standards.
Our head chef, uses fresh local seasonal produce cooked in a traditional
manner but with a modern theme.
We also offer traditional favourites such as Freshly caught Fish and Chips,
Homemade Burgers and a wide range of steaks.
In the warmer months, al fresco dining and drinking is available on our
new terrace which has stunning sea views over to Arran.
Our wine list features over 60 wines from all around the wine growing
world.
A considerable number of Scotland's finest malt whiskies have also been
collected to add the ultimate finishing touch.
Try a cocktail from our exiting vibrant list which features both modern
and traditional selection. Perfect while watching the sun set over Arran
while browsing our Award Winning Menu prior to your meal.
We would advise that you book your table as early as possible in the
restaurant as it does tend to become fully booked, especially at weekends.
Full Scottish Breakfast is now included in all of our bedroom rates. Cooked
dishes are freshly cooked whilst there is also an extensive range of Continental
Breakfast items, cereals, cheeses, meats and yoghurts are also available
from our buffet table.
Breakfast is served in Martins Bar and Grill from 7am to 10am.
Fairfield House Hotel has it's own Leisure Club comprising of a well-equipped
fitness centre indoor swimming pool complete with spa bath,
sauna and steam room.
All guests are welcome to use these facilities, providing the perfect way to relax and unwind, without even having to leave the hotel. The Leisure Club will be closed on Xmas Day and will operate shorter hours on Xmas Eve, Boxing Day, Hogmanay and New Years Day.
Conference Suite:
The Fairfield House Hotel provides a prestigious location for business
meetings, seminars, conferences, corporate events and other private functions.
Purpose built to the highest standards, this conveniently located venue’s
facilities include:

We can offer you our Fairfield Suite (13m x 13m) which is fully air-conditioned, has natural daylight, disabled access and it's own separate entrance. Also available are our refurbished Boardroom or numerous bedroom syndicates.
Our dedicated, capable and experienced staff will work closely with you
at every stage of organising your event in order to ensure that it is
even more successful than you could possibly have wished for.
Our day delegate rate includes:

The hotel has also hosted the Scottish Conservative Party Conference
in Ayr in May 2008.
During the event we catered for two conference dinners for 150 guests
and held extensive canape and drinks receptions for up to 400 delegates
at a time in our conservatory, restaurant, boardroom and large bedroom
suites.
Weddings:
A Wedding in Ayr is a specialty at Fairfield House Hotel. The hotel can
cater for up to 100 for a wedding meal and 150 for an evening reception.
The hotel is licensed to carry out ceremonies in The Fairfield Suite (100)
and our Boardroom (30). Your wedding day is the most important day of
your life, and our services are geared to ensuring that it is the happy
and memorable occasion that you will always look back upon with lasting
pleasure.

As we are privately owned we don't have a rule book for what you can and
can't have, we will do our best to cater for all requests.
There are no hidden charges, no clauses that say you can't throw confetti,
no hard and fast minimum numbers rules, just honest advice from start
to finish.

The whole of Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran is a mecca for golf enthusiasts - professional or amateur - with over 40 outstanding courses spread throughout the area.
Outstanding amongst them are the Open Championship courses of Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick, where the first Open Championship was played in 1860. These prestigious courses are complemented by many fine municipal golf courses.
The Fairfield House Hotel is situated only 10 minutes from Prestwick Golf Club, 15 minutes from Royal Troon and 30 minutes drive from Turnberry, the venue for Open Golf 2009. Fairfield House Hotel is the nearest four star hotel to Turnberry.
Ayrshire is world famous for its golf courses and it boasts three Open
Championship courses The Ailsa at Turnberry, Prestwick and Royal Troon
In addition there are a host of quality links courses such as Kilmarnock
Barassie, Glasgow Gailes, Western Gailes, The Dundonald, Irvine Bogside,
West Kilbride, the Turnberry Kintyre and Prestwick St Nicholas.
In Ayr and Troon you'll find three of the best muncipal courses in the
country at Lochgreen and Darley and Belleisle in addition there are other
additional public golf courses run by the local councils the length of
the county.
Other inland courses also provide a challenge including the excellent
Brunston Castle near Turnberry or Loudoun Gowf Club just outside Kilmarnock.
Prestwick also has a third course, the inland layour at St Cuthbert's.
For the James Braid trail aficionados you can enjoy three layouts in Ayrshire
- Irvine Bogside, Routenburn and West Kilbride.
