Culzean Castle:
National Trust for Scotland's 'Flagship' Culzean Castle and country
park is only 30 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bus. Designed by Robert
Adam the castle sits on a cliff top overlooking the sea and is surrounded
by formal gardens and extensive woodland. The visitors centre has shops
and a restaurant
Burns experience:
We are in the heart of Burns country close to Burns Cottage and Heritage
Centre. Other Burns sites are Souter Johnnies Cottage at Kirkoswald and
the Bachelor’s Club in Tarbolton
Horse racing:
Ayr Race Course is Scotland’s premier race course with a full year
round programme and hosts The Scottish Grand National and Ayr Gold Cup
meetings
Golf:
There are many fine golf courses in Ayrshire and we can organise golf
packages on the excellent local municipal courses and games on courses
such as Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick.
Day trips:
We are ideally situated for visits to the Island of Arran, Largs, Glasgow,
Stirling and Edinburgh.
Locally we are in walking distance of the sea front, Ayr’s river
walk, The Gaiety theatre and ten pin bowling.
Walking in Ayr and Ayrshire:
Ayr is ideal base for walking, either in the old town, on the coastal
routes or in the rolling Ayrshire countryside.Ayr is an old county town
with interesting buildings and historical walks through the high Street
(pictured) and Sandgate to the harbour side and the sea front.
The paths along the river at Auchencruive are part of the River Ayr Way
which starts at Glenbuck east of Muirkirk, follows the River Ayr downstream
through before reaching the Firth of Clyde at Ayr harbour.
The Ayrshire Coastal Path from Glenapp to Skelmorlie runs 100 miles along
one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the UK.
Galloway Forrest Park is Britain's largest forest park at three hundred
square miles of mountains moorland forest and lochs of South Ayrshire
and Dumfries & Galloway waiting to be explored
Golfing in Ayrshire:
Ayrshire has a large number of golf courses both links and parkland most
of which are available all year round. We can organise golf for you and
arrange transport.
South Ayrshire has 8 beautifully maintained municipal courses. There are
3 championship courses nearby. Prestwick Prestwick Golf Club held the
first Open in 1860.
It was last held there in 1925 Turnberry and Royal Troon are Open Championship
courses and hold the Open Golf Championship on a regular basis.
There is a further selection of private clubs which welcome visitors including
St Nicholas at Prestwick, Kilmarnock Barrassie and Br unston Castle.

BY CAR:
From Prestwick Airport
Prestwick Airport is 10 minutes by road. From the airport, turn left at
the airport exit follow the signs for Ayr (A79) through Prestwick. Straight
through 2 roundabouts, at the 3rd roundabout at Ayr College take the 3rd
exit then over the River Ayr. At the next double roundabout (by Ayr Station)
take the 2nd t exit at the 1st part then 1st exit at the second part into
Castlehill Road. Leslie Anne Guest House is just past the pedestrian crossing
opposite Morrison’s Super Market.
From Glasgow:
Follow the A77 South. Take the second turn off for Ayr onto the A70 into
Holmston Road. At the double roundabout ( Opposite the Station Hotel)
take the 1st exit at both parts of the roundabout into Castlehill Road.
Leslie Anne Guest House is just past the pedestrian crossing opposite
Morrison’s Super Market.
From Stranraer:
Follow the A77 north. At the 1st roundabout take the 1st exit sign posted
Ayr (A713) into Castlehill Road . Go through the 1st roundabout . At the
second roundabout (Morrison’s supermarket) take the second exit.

From England:
From the M6 continue onto the M74. Exit at junction 12 and take the A70
for Ayr (approx 40 miles). At the A77 roundabout on the edge of Ayr take
the 2nd exit into Holmston Road. At the double roundabout (Opposite the
Station Hotel) take the 1st exit at both parts of the roundabout into
Castlehill Road. Leslie Anne Guest House is just past the pedestrian crossing
opposite Morrison’s Super Market.
BY TRAIN:
There is a good train service from Glasgow and Prestwick Airport to Ayr
The train service south of Ayr links directly to the ferry at Stranrear.
We are 3 minutes walk from the station. Turn left at the station gates
and follow the pavement to the pedestrian crossing . Cross the road Turn
left again and follow the pavement over the bridge and round the corner
to the next pedestrian crossing. Cross the road turn right and we are
20 metres on the left hand side.
BY BUS:
We are 10 minutes walk from the bus station with express services to Glasgow
and extensive services to other parts of Ayrshire and the Clyde coast.
