The semi-detached 3-bedroom cottage is ideally situated in a quiet position just off the main square in the pretty Deeside village of Ballater. Built and equipped to a very high standard and deceptively spacious, it has an open-plan sitting room/kitchen with patio doors leading out to an enclosed walled garden. Gairnshiel Cottage can sleep up to 6 people. It would also be ideal for 2 couples, having two double bedrooms with adjacent shower rooms. The scenery here is stunning with the high peaks and wooded hills leading down to the River Dee. Braemar and Balmoral Castle aren't far and Aberdeen is only 35 miles. The area has many tourist facilities and award winning restaurants. For the energetic, this is the center for outdoor activities including golf, skiing, hang gliding, fishing on the River Dee, hill walking and climbing. Climbers can scale the peaks of Lochnagar and other local mountains. The River Dee runs through Ballater and there are stocked lochs for fishing; permits can be purchased locally.
