To the north lie the Cairngorm Mountains, Loch Ness and Inverness (90 mins), while to the west are Loch Tummel, the famous Queens View, Loch Rannoch, Schiehallion, and bleak Rannoch Moor. On the southern side are Dunkeld, Crieff and Perth (all within 45 mins). To the east is Glenshee and Braemar, and Balmoral is just over 50 miles away. Pitlochry lies 7 miles to the south, famous for its Festival Theatre. There are also two whisky distilleries, one of which is the smallest in Scotland, and enough shops to keep the ladies happy. And in Blair Atholl itself there are a number of attractions. We are just one mile from Blair Castle, traditional home of the Dukes of Atholl and the Atholl Highlanders, and one of Scotland's best known castles. Three miles to the south is Killiecrankie, site of the famous battle. Blair Castle is open to the public from Easter until late September.
