Glenshieling House and Glenshieling Lodge are non-smoking properties with plenty of private parking for residents. Both places are set back from the road and situated in just under 3-acres of garden and woodlands. Glenshieling is a peaceful haven located away from the main road amidst three acres of woodland. The Lounge has been restored to its former glory and features an open fire for those chilly winter evenings when coffee and liqueurs are called for. In the evening you can choose to have a relaxing drink in the Conservatory
with its Residents Bar, Your breakfast will be served in the elegant Dining Room with its views over the front garden. Evening meals are available between October & March if requested well in advance. Menus are varied and guests with special dietary needs are catered for. Location: Blairgowrie lies in the Southern Highlands of Scotland and is an ideally situated base. Whatever the purpose of your visit to the area you will find a wealth of activities and places to visit. For those interested in fishing and shooting Glenshieling House is well located with great facilities close by. It is also on the road to Glenshee (about 20 minutes.) and the slopes provide good skiing for both beginners and the more experienced. There is a host of top quality golf courses nearby and over the Spital of Glenshee lies Braemar, site of the famous annual Highland Gathering. From Glenshieling the splendours of Royal Deeside can be enjoyed. Notably Balmoral Castle, the autumn residence of the Royal Family; Glamis Castle, childhood home of the late Queen Mother; Blair Atholl; and, Scone Palace. The area is a haven for walkers and cyclists. Walkers should try the recently completed Cateran Trail, which takes you on a circular route through the most beautiful countryside imaginable. For those who enjoy their shopping Dundee, Perth, St Andrews, and the House of Bruar are all within an hour’s drive away. Blairgowrie is within one to two hours of the major Airports of Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The new ferry terminal at Rosyth, which lies just to the north of Edinburgh, gives our European visitors a direct sea route to Scotland from the Belgian port of Zeebrugge.
