Highland Cottages are situated in a quiet hamlet 1 mile from Boat of Garten,
5 miles from Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park in the center of
the Highlands on Speyside.
Inverness and Loch Ness are a short distance away. The cottages are newly built and both have full disabled access, disabled toilets and wet rooms.
Alba Highland Cottages Accommodation
The PTARMIGAN
has 3 bedrooms, 2 twins and a king sized bedroom with en suite.
It has a large open fully equipped kitchen with dining area leading onto
outside decking with garden furniture. It has a downstairs sitting area
with TV. The main lounge is upstairs with a wood burning stove and a TV
/ DVD with cinema surround. It is heated by under floor heating and oil
fired central heating. It has a secure garden with adjacent parking for
2 cars.
The OSPREY
has 5 bedrooms, 1 king sized bed and 4 rooms with twins, 2 of
which have en suite.
It has a large open fully equipped kitchen with dining area leading onto
outside decking with garden furniture. It has a downstairs sitting area
with TV / DVD and upstairs lounge with TV / DVD and table football. It
is heated by oil fired central heating. It has a secure garden and adjacent
parking for 3 cars.
Both cottages are surrounded by woods, situated off a single tract road, and are visited by red squirrels, roe deer and many varieties of birds including woodpeckers.
Boat of Garten has a good local shop, Post office, hotel / bar and restaurants. It is home to the Srathspey Railway and near to Loch Garten and RSPB nature reserve where ospreys can be seen.
It has bicycle hire shops and many cycle and walking tracks locally. It has tennis courts, a golf course and fishing on the River Spey. The Cairngorm Mountains are within easy reach for hill walking, climbing and winter skiing. Aviemore is connected to the main rail network with connections to London, Edinburgh, Inverness and Glasgow. Inverness Airport is 45 minutes away and Glasgow, Edinburgh less than 3 hours by car.
The cottages are in the center of the Highlands and a great base for exploring the Highlands. Free WIFI access available shortly.

From Aviemore head north out of village for 5 miles towards Grantown
on Spey. 100metres after Lisi's restaurant turn left up road opposite
School house at junction for Boat of Garten,cottages are located 200 meters
on left hand side.
Getting There by Railway
Train from London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness to Aviemore
then taxi to cottages.
Getting there by Aeroplane
Nearest airport is Inverness then car/taxi to cottages - about
25 miles.
