All 7 bedrooms have excellent en-suite facilities and are furnished to a very high standard, some have views over the water towards the Isle of Jura. Relax in individually decorated, warm and comfortable rooms; all have controllable heating, bathtubs and some have power showers.
There is a choice of double (some with queen size beds),
twin or family bedrooms. Each bedroom
has direct dial telephone, colour television, hairdryer, tea and coffee
making facilities and those extra little touches to make you feel at home.
The Conservatory Lounge
There is a comfortable cosy lounge, located on the first floor, with lots
of books to read, games to play or where you can simply relax and admire
the view across the harbour.
Excellent views across the harbour towards the north west corner of Islay and the Paps of Jura can be enjoyed from the spacious ground floor Conservatory Lounge or why not have a dram or two in the reception lounge with its roaring open fire during the cooler winter months.

Our award winning restaurant is widely recommended. Our menus change regularly
to take advantage of the freshest of local produce from Islay’s
superb larder.
Below is designed purely to give you an idea of the style of dishes we
offer. If you prefer plainer fare, there is always an option of simply
grilled steaks and fish. All our dishes are prepared to order so can be
modified to suit any dietary requirements.

ACTIVITIES
As a base for touring Islay – described by the Lord of the Isles
as “ The Jewel of the Hebrides “ – the hotel’s
location is unique with many areas of natural beauty within an easy drive.
Whether your interests are with the island’s beautiful natural environment, the vast numbers of birds and wildlife or the world’s finest single malt whiskies, The Harbour Inn is the ideal base from which to explore this fine island.
And of course there are eight working distilleries who
welcome visitors with a complimentary dram or two
There are many locations of historic interest, some dating back to the
Iron Age and others relating to the turbulent times in Scottish history
when the “ Lord of the Isles “ were engaged in contesting
ownership of western Scotland.
Interesting visits may include the Museum of Islay Life located in the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte where you will also find the Wildlife Field Centre. At the Islay Woollen Mill, near Bridgend, visitors and see an original working mill in action.
Islay is a bird watchers paradise be it the barnacle geese or the elusive corncrake to name bur two with over 100 species being present on the island all year round. Guided bird watching tours can be arranged.
In conjunction with Islay Birding we can arrange expert guided bird watching tours….brilliant for beginners – excellent for experts. Due to demand from both professional and amateur photographers we can offer daily expeditions to photograph Islay’s marvelous scenery and wildlife.
We can arrange for you to have access to fantastic sites immediately, without the need for research and have more time to achieve that long awaited image.

From Port Ellen or Port Askaig follow signs for Bowmore. The Harbour Inn
