The
properties at Mar Lodge Estate are ideal for visitors wishing to explore
this magnificent area all year round. The immediate area boasts ample
opportunities for hill-walking, cycling, skiing, snowboarding and sledging,
as well as fishing (salmon and trout) stalking and shooting which are
offered on Mar Lodge Estate itself.
Within the grounds of the estate, Claybokie and Creag Bhalg form their
own exclusive small estate, comprising two exquisite houses, private in
the extreme and beautiful in every respect.
With their open fires, deep beautiful sofas, antlers, tartan carpets,
and fine furniture and paintings, these must be among the most comfortable
lodges in Scotland.
Both Claybokie and Creag Bhalg are set within a high-walled garden on
three sides and the fenced-off river to the front, and are perfect for
house parties and family get-togethers. They are let on a self-catering
basis, however, we can recommend local caterers should you wish to spoil
yourself.
Claybokie is just two minutes' walk from Creag Bhalg, through woodland
and sleeps ten people.
