Lodge has been refurbished to a high standard and offers guests the opportunity
to relax in the elegant and comfortable atmosphere of this attractive
property.
The lodge has five self-catering apartments - Dalvorar, Macdui, Braeriach, Derry and Bynack.
Each of the apartments is spacious and well-equipped. Since they are
all centrally heated throughout, they are ideal for visitors wishing to
see this magnificent area not only in summer but also at its most beautiful
with snow capped mountains in the winter.
Subject to availability, visitors may make use of the public rooms on
the ground floor, consisting of the library, billiard room, drawing room
and Craggan room. There is also a dining room to seat 30 and a caterers'
kitchen available to guests booking multiple apartments.
Mar Lodge Apartments Accommodation
Mar Lodge is also an ideal venue for corporate entertaining and other
private functions.
All apartments are available for winter and festive breaks and have the
following facilities:
Dalvorar, Mar Lodge
The Dalvorar apartment is next to Macdui on the first floor of the main
block of Mar Lodge.The unique feature of this apartment is the sitting
room with its bookcases built into the semi-circular western wall. One
of the twin bedrooms has a balcony overlooking the main entrance.
Sleeps 4 . Two twin bedrooms. Sitting room, kitchen with dining area.
Bathroom with bath and shower, separate WC with wash-basin.
No smoking or dogs are allowed in this apartment.
Macdui, Mar Lodge
This apartment is immediately above Derry on the first floor of the west
wing; entrance is up one flight of stairs from the door at the south end
of the west wing.
Sleeps 4. Two large bedrooms - one double, one twin. Sitting room with
balcony overlooking the area in front of the main entrance to Mar Lodge.
Kitchen with dining area. Bathroom with WC, bath and shower; separate
WC with wash-basin.
No smoking or dogs are allowed in this apartment.
Bynack, Mar Lodge
This popular apartment is situated on two levels and is an ideal choice
for family gatherings or a group of friends. Although the apartment sleeps
up to 15 people it is also possible for smaller parties to book at reduced
rates.
Bynack is available for short breaks (minimum of 3 nights) throughout
the year.
Accommodation comprises 7 bedrooms: 4 twin bedrooms, 2 double rooms and
1 double with single on the first floor, as well as 4 bathrooms, 3 with
bath and shower and one with bath only. Kitchen, living/dining room which
can comfortably seat 15 and additional WC on the ground floor.
No smoking or dogs are allowed in this apartment.
Braeriach, Mar Lodge
This is a spacious apartment situated opposite Dalvorar at the top of
the main staircase. Extra bedrooms from Bynack may be used subject to
availability.
Sleeps 2/4. One double bedroom. Kitchen/dining room. Large sitting room
with balcony overlooking courtyard in front of the property. Sofa bed
in sitting room. Bathroom with bath and shower, separate WC with wash-basin.

Getting there from the Information Center
From Braemar Tourist Information Center, follow the road through the Center
of Braemar. There is a sign at the end of the village to the Linn of Dee.
Stay on this road for approximately three miles until, on your right;
you see a large white Victorian bridge across the River Dee. Cross the
bridge, following the road on the tarmac surface to the left which is
the main drive to the front of Mar Lodge. Please follow the road round
to the left-hand side of the lodge, which leads to the back of the property
where there is a reception area and car parking. A member of staff will
direct you to your apartment upon arrival.
Getting There by Car
Make your way to Braemar taking the Inverey junction beside the Bank of
Scotland, off the main Aberdeen to Perth road [A93]. Drive through the
Center of Braemar following the sign at the end of the village to the
Linn of Dee. Stay on this road for approximately three miles until, on

Nearest rail station is Aberdeen, 65 m E of Braemar. Stagecoach Bluebird
operate a bus service from Aberdeen to Braemar. There is no public transport
from Braemar to the Mar Lodge Estate (3 m).
Getting there by Aeroplane
Aberdeen International Airport (at Dyce), 62 m E of Braemar. Car hire
available at the airport. Stagecoach Bluebird operate a bus service from
Aberdeen to Braemar. There is no public transport from Braemar to the
Mar Lodge Estate (3 m).
