Broadford HotelsHalf of Two is a spacious detached old crofter's cottage, with spectacular views across Loch Slapin to the majestic Blaven, southernmost of the Black Cuillin mountains.

Tranquilly set in the village of Torrin, on the Elgol road, 7 miles west of Broadford, and ready to embrace for you all of the pleasures and wonders of the magical Island of Skye.

Sitting room:
The bright heart of the cottage with vaulted ceiling, mood controlled lighting, comfy seating and furnishing; the kitchen adjoins; as does the dining area, for all to sit and soak in the ever changing view.

The large ground floor double bedroom has plenty of cupboard space, a lovely double bed and a great en-suite showerroom off. Wake up to a spectacular view across the garden, to the loch and mountains beyond.

The cosy loft bedroom has comfortable sleeping from 3 to up to 5 and plenty storage space - very popular with children.

Unwind in an oasis of calm with heated tiled floor, towel warmer, luxury side-fill bath and Hansgrohe shower.

Treat yourself to a great showering experience. En suite to the ground floor bedroom, with chrome towel warmer and heated tiled floor.

Beech counter-tops, a Belfast sink by the window overlooking the garden, and all the facilities you need for ease and comfort. Rangemaster cooker, integrated fridge and dish washer.
All crockery and cookware is included.

An automatic washing machine and separate tumble dryer are located in the adjoining utility area.
A lovely large, fenced cottage garden to relax in, and enjoy the spectacular Skye canvas before you.

Whatever the time or season you’ll find everything for all the family, all interests and all ages.

A few minutes walk takes you to the shore of the lovely Loch Slapin and a little further to a wonderful secluded beach. In fact you need not venture any further than on foot to enjoy the abundant variety of activities that the Torrin area has to offer.

Shopping
Broadford the second largest town in Skye and only 7 miles to the east has an excellent Co-op with a wide range of essential supplies and foods suitable for all tastes.
There is a 24 garage for necessities or late arrivals, and a Bank. Visit the bakers, butchers, and the Isle of Skye Seafood outlet; the attractive Post Office and shop, outdoor clothing shop, and Skye Silver to name but a few.

Further north, approximately 40 minutes by car or bus, is the busy main island town of Portree.

Eating out
You will not have to go far to enjoy the excellent local facilities for snacks, lunches, and evening meals. Suggestions in the local area are: Coruisk House, Broadford Hotel (and Gabro Bar), Creelers Bistro, Serpentarium (for soup and sandwich + snakes!). Further a field are the renowned Kinloch Lodge (in Sleat) and Three Chimneys (at Glendale).

ACTIVITIES:
Walking: Enjoy peaceful country strolls or rambles from the cottage into the surrounding areas. Stretch your legs in the nearby Red Cuillins. Or take a more serious hike to the Blaven ridge on the other side of the loch.

Mountaineering: For which the island is famous. Hill walking and more serious mountaineering in the famous Black Cuillins. Specialist facilities and advice are available for guided walks, rock climbing, and ice climbing.

Water sports: Sailing, kayaking, swimming (in summer!); there’s something for everyone.

Boat trips: Loch Coruisk (“the Hidden Loch”) from Elgol, or (by arrangement) to Rhum.

Cycling: Bicycles are available to hire locally.

Trekking & riding: Skye horse riding centres offer everything from gentle treks to something for the more experienced rider.

Contemplation: marvel at the sights, sounds and smells of nature all around, and then just put your feet up with a dram and a good book!
