Hillview Accommodation

The B&B has a double bedroom with ensuite facilities, a double bedroom with shared facilities and a twin room with shared facilities as well as a family room with a private bathroom and a balcony.

We offer a full Scottish breakfast or vegi option if you prefer.
Our rooms are very comfortable and most have stunning sea views.

Family Room - this is the largest room in the B&B and sleeps up to 4 people. There is a large double bed and two single beds in the room.

The family room has a private bathroom with both a bath and a shower. One unique feature is the balcony which has fantastic views over Broadford bay and the nearby hills.
The room is tastefully decorated with large photographs of local landscapes.

Double Room ensuite - sleeps two people and has an attached bathroom with a shower. The views out to sea are spectacular. As with all the rooms we provide a hairdryer, a clock and a radio, a TV and a hospitality tray for tea and coffee.

Twin Room Shared facilities - sleeps two people and has shared bathroom directly across from the room. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower. All the rooms in Hillview are strictly non-smoking and we are sorry but we cannot accept pets. The twin room has lovely sea views across Broadford bay.

Double room shared facilities - sleeps two people and has a shared bathroom directly next door.
All rooms have access to the elegant guest's sitting room with views over the sea and a good selection of games and books on the local area including walking guide books.

Hillview Bed and Breakfast is an ideal base for a 2 to 3 day exploration of the surrounding area, both the island and the mainland.

The scenery is wild and dramatic with the Cuillin range being the islands most famous feature.
The landscape varies from the strange rock formations of the Quirang to the lushness of the Garden of Skye in the south of the island.

Around Broadford there are numerous mountain and coastal walks for all abilities.
Broadford can be reached by crossing the nearby Skye bridge (now toll free) or by taking a trip on a ferry from Mallaig to Armadale, Sleat or the small but unique ferry at Glenelg to Kylerhea.

Broadford is the second largest village on Skye and has a petrol station with a shop and laundrette, a supermarket, post office, bank, butcher and various other shops and art galleries etc.
There are also several restaurants, pubs and cafes where you can have a meal.

Location of Hillview Bed and Breakfast:
Hillview B&B is easy to find in the village of Broadford. When approaching the village from the Skye Bridge drive through Broadford past the Claymore restaurant on the right. Near the bus shelter take the first left turn towards the Skye Serpentarium.
At the junction near Creelers restaurant turn right and immediately cross a small bridge then turn sharp left and follow the road for 200 metres to the end. Hillview B&B is located at the far end of this road

Activities on Skye:
Hillview B&B is ideally located for exploring both the Isle of Skye or the nearby Scottish mainland. Popular local activities include hill walking, climbing, sightseeing around Skye, fishing, golf, kayaking and cycling.

For the less energetic the cottage is perfectly located for some gentle walks along the Broadford village or around the bay to Irishman's point. Just outside of the village is a recently constructed 17km network of all-ability footpaths.

Skye is a mecca for climbers and walkers and boasts some of the most stunning landscapes to be found in the British Isles. Local guides can show you some of the most spectacular mountains in Scotland or explore the Cuillin ridge on your own.

Alternatively you can visit the impressive Loch Coruisk carved by ice in the heart of the Cuillins by taking a boat trip on the "Misty Isle" or "Bella Jane" from the fishing village of Elgol.

Skye is also a fantastic place to see some rare and unusual wildlife. If you are lucky you may see the elusive otters which hunt in Broadford bay. In the mountains you may see Golden Eagles or the extremely rare white tailed Sea Eagle which nest in small numbers on Skye.

Around the coast you may see numerous common and grey seals.
Occasionally dolphins and porpoises visit the bay and boat trips to see minke whale and basking sharks are also possible.
The Skye Serpentarium is a short walk from Hillview and is a popular local attraction especially with children wishing to handle snakes!

For evening entertainment around Broadford there are several restaurants and pubs in easy walking distance from the house.
For example the Bistro restaurant at the local Broadford Hotel, the Claymore Inn and Creeler's restaurant all offer fresh local food.
For a special meal there is the world famous Three Chimneys restaurant in north Skye or Lady Claire MacDonald's Kinloch Lodge, a short drive from Broadford.
