Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or just fancy a leisurely

cross-island epics, the coastal way, easy (or hard!) forest trails or
a stroll around the castle gardens. There truly is something for everyone
on this 250 sqm paradise.
Cycling
Even with Arran’s few roads, several excellent and varied routes
can be cycled, most including some hills but all with stunning views making
the hard work completely worthwhile. Bikes for adults and children can
be hired at our on-site adventure cabin.
Horse riding
Saddle up at one of the Islands equestrian centre’s, with horse
riding experiences from novice to experienced. Centres are located at
Blackwaterfoot and Sannox.
Golf from Arran
It’s the number of courses and the variety, the bars and the tea
shops. Seven courses, some 18 holes, some 9 holes, and even one 12 hole
course. Some fairly flat, some rather hilly, and some will test your lungs
as well as your golf.
All will give you a warm welcome, and remind you of the time when golf
was fun. From moorland to parkland, nowhere offers the variety and scenery
of golf on Arran.
Arran is rich in history
With the three castles of Brodick, Lochranza and Kildonan, together with
Arran Heritage Museum providing an insight into the Island's past. Prehistoric
sites are varied, with perhaps one of the most interesting being the Machrie
Moor standing stones.
Thriving in Arran's natural environment are the Golden eagle and the
ptarmigan along with many other bird species. Stags roam the corries and
glens in the autumn months and dewy eyed seals bob along like corks in
the island's bays and inlets.
There is also a rich variety for the botanist ranging from wild woodland
plants to the magnificent gardens of Brodick Castle. The Isle of Arran
is one of the world's classic geological locations with diverse and beautiful
rock formations together with spectacular cliffs formed about 10,000 years
ago running around much of the island.
More artisan food producers than any other in the area of Scotland!
During your stay you could find yourself touring the whisky Distillery
or micro-brewery, watching cheese making or meeting local
producers at the regular farmers market in Kilmory.
The ‘Arran Brand’ is becomingly increasingly
well recognized and is synonymous with excellence and you’ll find
no better place to sample the delights of the Arran larder than on the
island itself. Look out for seasonal local produce on restaurant menus
and pick up some great gifts to take home at many of the well stocked
local shops dotted throughout the island.
