Brodick HotelsKilmichael Country House Hotel and Deluxe Cottages
— a very special place to stay —

Quality, comfort and style are the hallmarks of the experience.

There are four self-contained cottages in the grounds. These are all new buildings in period style, designed to harmonize with the historic main house.

They successfully marry modern convenience and comfort with the elegance and atmosphere of the Georgian age.

All are decorated in a country house style, which is an attractive blend of contemporary and antique. All are graded five stars (which means “exceptional, “world class”) by the Scottish Tourist Board.

Kilmichael Deluxe Cottages Accommodation

Each cottage has full central heating and two also have real flame (gas) fireplaces. Each comfortably sleeps four, in two bedrooms: one twin and one with a queen-size mahogany 4-poster.

All bedrooms have their own bathroom en suite and the 4-poster rooms have the extra luxury of a spa bath. All have showers as well as baths and unlimited hot water, perfect for a relaxing soak after a day on the hills.

The kitchens are fully fitted and equipped with ceramic hob, conventional and microwave ovens, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer - and all the appliances you would expect to find in a deluxe home-from-home.

In the unlikely event that you should tire of the perfect peace of the glen, there’s TV, DVD, CD and a supply of books in each of the welcoming sitting rooms and there’s also everything you need for dining - from TV dinners to more formal suppers. Peacock Cottage even has a piano.

Each cottage has its own private garden where you can sit and relax or enjoy a barbecue. All bed linen and towels are provided and there are no supplementary charges for gas or electricity.

What more can we say? We have many regular guests who come back year after year – and some who come twice: first in the spring and again in the autumn.

Finch and Bluebird Cottages
These cottage look like two halves of the same building, but they are actually detached and entirely self-contained; the roof continues over the archway (which separates the pair) to add to the architectural appeal and to support the clock turret.

The kitchen and bathrooms at the front look onto the Kilmichael Woods, which are now part of the Glenrickard Forest, administered by the Forestry Commission, and home to the occasional deer as well as many red squirrels.

The bedrooms and the spacious sitting room face west onto their own private gardens and across to Glen Cloy, Sgiath Bhan and Goatfell. Each has underfloor central heating and a beautiful marble fireplace with real-flame gas fire. French doors lead onto private patio gardens.

Peacock Cottage
Peacock Cottage is named for our tame and friendly peacocks, who seem especially attracted to it: they occasionally perch on the bedroom window ledges or come to the kitchen door looking for treats. Peacock Cottage was formerly known as Clock Cottage.

It is a light and spacious house with large en suite bedrooms and a living room which has windows on three sides, including French windows onto its private patio and garden. It has an upright piano in the hall.

Vane Cottage
Vane Cottage is named for the gilded unicorn weather vane over the front porch and is probably the most "cottage-like" of them all. It is a cosy, fresh and bright holiday home, facing south onto the Stable Court, across its own small front garden.

To welcome you to the Kilmichael Estate you will find fresh flowers and fruit, together with Arran Aromatics toiletries and a complimentary selection of essential groceries.
