Brodick Hotels The Ormidale hotel is a 15 min walk from the Brodick ferry terminal. The Isle of Arran is on the West Coast of Scotland. The most accessible Scottish Island known as Scotland in miniature. Lots of activities are easily accessible from the Ormidale Hotel.

The Ormidale is set in 7 acres of wooded grounds, 5 minutes from beach and shops and enjoys magnificent views to Goat Fell.

The Ormidale Hotel Accommodation

The Ormidale Hotel is a lively pub with 7 ensuite bedrooms. All bedrooms ensuite with colour TV, tea/coffee.

Famous for its home cooked bar meals, real ale and weekend discos. B+B includes a Superb traditional Scottish breakfast. Lunch and Supper are available from the bar. The pub attracts all ages to the regular weekend discos and mid week quiz nights.

Relax in front of the log fire and enjoy a great bar meal from a large selection of fresh produce locally sourced were ever possible. Go for a meal and stay for the disco!

The Ormidale Disco is part of the Arran experience that shouldn't be missed. The disco takes place in a large conservative glass house. With silver balls and coloured lights along with geraniums. A large mix of all ages local and visitors enjoying themselves wearing their glad rags Arran style.

The Ormidale bar menu offers a vast range of superb traditional pub meals and some non traditional ones. Lunch time and Evening meals full menu available. There are several vegetarian options to choose from.
Meals are served from 6pm to 9pm every night.

Attractions and Activities

The Ormidale hotel has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is a good location for hillwalkers, golfers and families. The Ormidale is next to the sports pavillion with football field, skate park and Brodick golf course. 5 min's walk from the village.

Some of the rooms can be noisy on a Friday and Saturday night due to the Disco and good nightlife of the Ormidale hotel.

Beer Garden:
The Ormidale beer garden is set in 7 acres of woodlands. Enjoy a pub lunch or beer in the Ormidale gardens with views of Goatfell. Beside Brodick golf course and the Sports pitch.

Childrens play area:
There is a childrens play area along with more traditional rope swings made from old pier ropes, strong enough for adults to play!

Arran is beautiful: seals bask on the rocks beneath Brodick Castle while red deer roam the heather-clad burns and glens which provide a real challenge to the serious climber or a leisurely walk for the rambler or naturalist. Ridge walking is deservedly very popular, nor least because of the spectacular views which the mountains and burns enshrine.

Ormidale is centrally situated on the island and is convenient for such mountain access. Paragliding, Pony trekking, putting, swimming, kayaking, tennis, bowling and golf (Arran has 7 courses) are other activities easily accessible from the Ormidale.

Car ferries sail from Ardrossan (all year) and Clonaig in Kintyre (summer only), a booking is recommended. Train services from Glasgow Central connect with all ferry services.

Ormidale History
The hotel is a splendid Victorian building, built in the 1850’s as the summer house of the painter Herring and his adopted daughter Jeannie, an authoress and London socialite, who in turn married the sculptor John Adams Acton. The building was converted to a hotel in 1935 when it was bought by the present owners grandparents.

Getting there from the Information Centre:

Brodick Tourist Information Centre turn right towards village. Pass shops then turn left opposite Brodick Golf Club House. First left passed Brodick Church.

Getting There by Railway:
From Glasgow Central - train to Ardrossan Harbour connects with ferry to Brodick.

Getting there by Aeroplane:
From Glasgow Airport take bus to Paisley Gilmour Street Station and catch boat train to Ardrossan Harbour then ferry. From Prestwick Airport - Train to Kilwinning then transfer to train to Ardrossan Harbour and then ferry.

Getting There by Ferry:
From Brodick turn right towards Brodick Village. Pass shops, turn left opposite Brodick Golf Club House then first left passed Brodick Church.
