Set in a rural location in southwest Scotland this quiet but perfectly placed barn is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts but also a quiet getaway with spectacular panoramic views of the Galloway hills, yet minutes away from the beautiful south west coastline. The Old Sunday School AccommodationThis two bedroom barn conversion has been finished to a very high standard and has all mod cons for modern day living, includes dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, wood burner and welcome pack. All bedding (duvets), linen, towels, logs, heating & lighting included in rates. The Old Sunday School sleeps up to 4 people with 1 double en-suite (shower) and 1 twin bedroom, second bathroom (bath & shower) and kitchen/diner (fridge/freezer, microwave, tumble dryer, double oven). On ground floor with both bedrooms and lounge on first floor. Extras include; TV, DVD Player, Video Player, many board games, lots of books and a PS2 console with a few games. The property is just 3 miles from both Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie, which offers plenty of choice in shops & restaurants. We are ideally situated for wildlife enthusiasts, fishing, nature & forest trails. Transportation Facilities Activities With around fifty local businesses involved in either producing or selling food and drink, it is no wonder that nearby Castle Douglas has been designated a Food Town. If you wanted to indulge in a touch of retail therapy during your holiday, exploring quaint local shops for those unusual gifts, in search of an elusive antique or maybe on a mission for a designer label, there are countless opportunities to whet your appetite. All Mountain Bikers are welcome, since Dumfries and Galloway is the leading mountain biking area in the UK. In particular, the 7 Stanes in the south of Scotland are world renowned. There are many nature & forest trails in Dumfries & Galloway. The Forestry Commission have some good locations to explore. With over 200 miles of coastline and stunning landscapes just waiting to experienced. The Dumfries and Galloway Tourist Board has a comprehensive choice of walks. This is a great place for golf enthusiasts, since there are around 30 golf courses within a 60 minute drive of The Old Sunday School. If you like fishing, you are in luck. There are many coarse and fly fishing opportunities available in the surrounding area. Fish Galloway, Fishing in Scotland and FishScotland have good angling resources. Fan of horse riding? There are stables nearby open to all visitors. Continue through Dalbeattie and take A745 Castle Douglas road for 3 miles and The Old Sunday School is situated on your left hand side at the Buittle Church signpost.
