Centrally situated in Galloway it is 15 miles from Dumfries, 3 miles from Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie, 7 miles from the Solway Coast which offers sandy beaches and rocky pools to enjoy and 1 mile from Haugh of Urr village where there is a general shop/post office and an excellent 'local' where bar meals are available.
You will find plenty of space on our quiet roads and many places of interest and unsurpassed scenery lie within easy driving distance.
This is an ideal base for walking, bird watching and golfing on both links and inland courses. Trout and salmon fishing is free to guests on our stretch of the River Urr.
The Sheilin Accommodation
The Sheilin is Scottish and local Tourist Board registered and offers a high standard of accommodation. The cottage all on the ground floor is tastefully furnished and fully equipped.
It is double glazed, centrally heated and carpeted throughout and includes living/dining room with colour TV, 2 bedrooms - one with a double and single bed and the other with a double bed.
A tiled bathroom with a bath/shower, a modern fitted kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, automatic washing machine with tumble drier, microwave oven and all other necessary electric appliances. Linen provided.
A walled patio garden with garden furniture provided. Electricity is by £1.00 meter.

DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre:
From Castle Douglas Information Centre, go to King Street, turn right
and go to roundabout, carry straight on until the outskirts of Castle
Douglas and you will see a sign to Haugh of Urr, turn right and continue
along this Military Road for 2.5 miles and you will see Milton Park signposted
to the right, continue past the cottages and Elm Grove is signposted to
the right.
