to Dunard Hostel on the Isle of Barra. This small family run hostel is
warm and friendly.They welcome individuals, families and organised groups.
The hostel is open at all times and you are free to come and go as you please. Dunard is situated in Castlebay, Isle of Barra's main village.
It is a few minutes from the ferry terminal, handful of shops, tourist information, bank, post office, cafe and two hotel/pubs, which in summer fill with the sound of fiddles, accordions and bagpipes.

Getting there from the Information Center
From Castlebay Tourist Information Center, head towards the Co-op. Once
past the Co-op we are the 5th house on right hand side.
Getting there by Aeroplane
The airport is situated 8 miles away in Eoligarry. Use the post bus or
contact Kate or Chris at the hostel for pick-up. We are situated in the
main village - 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. When arriving in
Castlebay, you will be dropped off at the Post Office. Head up the hill
towards the Co-op. Dunard is 6 houses down on the right hand side.
Getting There by Ferry
From Castlebay Ferry Terminal, head up the slip road. Turn left and Dunard
Hostel is 4th house on the right hand side. It is a white house with steps
leading to front door. There is a sign situated outside in front garden.
