Under the personal supervision of the owners Brian & Maureen Beaumont you will feel welcomed when you visit Foulford South Wing Self Catering. Foulford South Wing self-catering property is set in the beautiful, peaceful, rural hills of Perthshire five miles from Crieff. The newly refurbished, family run, self catering accommodation, with four twin, ensuite bedrooms is family friendly and fully adapted for disabled guests. There has been an inn here since at least 1785 and the present family has been here since 1912, so there's quite a bit of history here, although not much of the original building. Foulford AccommodationThe accommodation in our south wing self catering unit consists of four ensuite twin rooms, fully equipped kitchen, living room and outside seating area. There is a T.V, DVD and plenty of books and games for your entertainment
on the odd wet day Linen, towels and all kitchenware will be provided
and guests can expect a comfortable and relaxing holiday or short break
at the Foulford. Foulford South Wing has been totally transformed to
provide our guests with comfortable, modern accommodation at affordable
prices. - Four Twin Ensuite Bedrooms - Comfortable Accommodation Right out in the country, we are situated about five miles north of Crieff, on the way to Dunkeld. Because of its central location in Scotland, you can easily take a day trip to Oban, Fort William, Inverness, Edinburgh or Glasgow, to mention just a few destinations. There are lots of interesting places to visit closer at hand, including Perth, which has many shops and leisure facilities. Golfers in the area are really spoilt for choice - you can take advantage of the Perthshire Highland Golf Ticket, which is very good value if you wish to play the nine-hole courses. For the more experienced golfer there are many top class courses to choose from - Crieff(9 & 18 hole courses), Pitlochry, Taymouth Castle ,Dunblane and Auchterarder to name but a few. St Andrews, the home of golf, is also within easy reach. Our own 9-hole par 3 course is free to residents of our self catering accommodation. The restaurant is now closed but golfers are very welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy our wonderful surroundings. For walkers there are many opportunities to explore the countryside and enjoy the wonderful scenery. One of General Wade's Roads passes directly behind the inn and you can follow it into the Sma' Glen and beyond. Perthshire offers the visitor a very varied holiday - history, wildlife, sport, and relaxation. We try to offer our guests at Foulford South wing a comfortable and special holiday, or short break, so you enjoy your stay and come back to see us again! Things To Do For walkers there are many opportunities to explore the countryside and enjoy the wonderful scenery and wildlife. One of General Wade's roads passes directly behind the inn and you can follow it into the Sma' Glen and beyond. Maps are available to help you plan your route and enjoy the countryside. In Crieff there is the Strathearn Community Campus (with Swimming Pool and gym) with an extensive programme of activities. By following the Perthshire Scotch Whisky Trail you can visit both the smallest and the oldest distilleries in Scoland. There you will learn how single malt is made in the traditional way and
perhaps manage "a wee dram!" At the Visitor Centre in Crieff,
you can visit the Drovers’ Exhibition and see paper-weights being
made at the new Caithness Glass factory. Just next door is the Ceramic Experience where you can paint your own
pottery - a great idea for the whole family for the odd wet day. There is also a newly-opened community fishery near the park - a chance to try a new hobby! For a bit of adventure maybe you could have a go at quad biking through the Perthshire Hills! Scottish Quads are based locally and have different courses for different ages and skill levels - remember to wear old clothes!! In between all this adventure you will perhaps take some time out to visit the Crieff and Strathearn Country Market where you will see the highest quality of local crafts and produce, cooking demonstrations and yummy tasters.
