The
ground-floor holiday flat in Crieff with its generously proportioned rooms,
high ceilings and ornate cornices is tastefully decorated to a high standard
with many personal touches throughout and is a great place for a holiday.
Entry to the flat is via the stately main entrance which leads you into
the spacious, central hall.
To the right is the large living room with bay-window, beautiful cornicing
and living-flame gas fire.
The bay-window acts as a real suntrap and the fire is ideal for cosy nights
in.
There is a large selection of books, some videos and a folder with a
wealth of information on things to do as well as walk descriptions and
local OS maps.
Old St Michaels Accommodation
A generous master bedroom with big windows contains a beautiful king-size
four poster bed and an extra day bed, so can also be used as a twin or
family room.
An old antique wardrobe as well as an antique dressing table provide ample
storage and let you move in quickly.
The twin bedroom contains two single beds and is also a comfortable
size. You can chill on the sofa if you feel like withdrawing. Two built-in
cupboards and a chest of drawers make storage easy.
Old St. Michaels is a beautiful Victorian self-catering apartment in
a listed former Manse on the edge of Crieff. Generously proportioned rooms,
high ceilings and ornate cornices give the flat a touch of luxury and
make for comfortable, airy living. It is an ideal place to relax, unwind
and recharge your batteries.
The country-style kitchen with butler sink is spacious, very well equipped
for self catering and is a great place to enjoy a meal and chat around
the big central table.
At the back of the house is a cosy bathroom with WC and over bath shower.
Large and small towels are provided.
Our garden is well stocked and part of it is designated for residents’
sole use.

Things to do:
Crieff is a small, friendly holiday town set in beautiful scenery in the
heart of Scotland with all amenities within walking distance.
Strathearn and Perthshire are well known for their beauty and provide
everything for those who like to explore or enjoy the outdoors, be it
walking, fishing, golf, rock-climbing, canoeing or cycling.
The town has a good range of restaurants, lovely cafes, pubs, banks,
a Tourist Information and many small, independent shops like an cnoc,
a beautiful craft gallery, which set Crieff’s High Street apart
from many faceless towns.
Furthermore there are three art galleries, two good delis including McNees
of Crieff and two supermarkets,all within easy walking distance from the
flat.
Our local butcher, the greengrocer, great fish shop and our bakeries
should cover most culinary needs.
Other facilities include several parks, lovely walks straight from the
town centre, the spectacular Drummond Castle Gardens gardens and Scotland’s
oldest whisky distillery.
A leisure centre with swimming pool, several sports halls and gym are
400 yards from our front door.

Walking:
Crieff and the surrounding area is ideal for walkers of all abilities.
Walkers can choose from challenging munros (Ben Vorlich, Ben Lawers, etc)
to picturesque low-level walks - the possibilities are endless! For those
who have been infected with the munro bug, there are perhaps 70 munros
within an hour’s drive.
Many walks like Lady Mary’s Walk, the lover’s walk and the
Knock walk can be accessed directly from the self catering accommodation
in Crieff or done with public transport, which also enables you to do
A to B walks.

We are enthusiastic walkers ourselves and are very happy to share our
local knowledge and point you in the right direction.
Golf:
Golfers will find a wide variety of courses within 30 minutes drive ranging
from Crieff’s own two courses to small, rural gems set in spectacular
scenery. The world-famous courses at Gleneagles (15 min.) and St.Andrews
(1 hour) are also easily accessible.

Many quiet country roads and trails are waiting to be explored, be it
fairly flat in the valley or as mountainous as you would like - the choice

The OS maps in the self catering accommodation will help to find your
way around. Mountain bikes are for hire at Comriecroft between Crieff
and Comrie, where you can also find a purpose built mountain bike trail.

Riding:
Riding is also a popular sport in Strathearn. Local stables can be found
at Crieff Hydro and Alichmore Stables, set beautifully a mere five minute
drive from our self catering flat in Crieff.

Fishing:
Perthshire is well known for its rivers and lochs. Permits can be obtained
at the Tourist Information in Crieff. Day Tickets for non-members of the
Crieff Angling Club can be purchased to fish for Salmon & Sea Trout,
Brown Trout and Grayling on separate Permits.
