Sandyhills Bay Leisure Park Accommodation
Our range of comfortable holiday caravans are maintained to a high standard
of cleanliness. They are well appointed - some with glorious views out
over the bay.
Touring Pitches
Sandyhills Bay has a superb, long, sandy beach on its doorstep and many
activities nearby making it ideal for a fun, family holiday.
All of our Parks have several different kinds of pitches to meet individuals'
requirements. All four parks have: Touring Pitches, Electric Touring Pitches,
and Standard Tent Pitches.
Touring Pitch
Standard numbered pitch on your chosen park (with no electric socket hire).
Electric Pitch
A numbered pitch with electric socket hire available.
Standard Tent Pitch
A standard pitch for your tent on your chosen park (with no electric socket
hire).
Toilets and Laundry
Our central toilet block is perfectly located for ease of use by both
tourers and campers. It is well maintained and cleaned to our highest
standards.
Our Thistle caravans are either two or three bedroomed and fully equipped
- all you need to bring is linen, towels and those little extras to make
your stay comfortable.
Sandy Hills Facilities
Sandyhills Bay is situated on a beautiful beach with sheltered sandy coves,
it hosts a licenced shop and children's play area. You will never get
bored at Sandyhills, there is so much to see and do, both on the Park
and in the surrounding area.
Next to the park is the 18 hole Colvend Golf Course and
within a few minutes walk is the Barend Horse-riding centre.

The nearest cash line machines are located in Dalbeattie.
Mobile Phone Reception
The best network provider for use on Sandyhills Bay itself is Vodaphone.
Public Phone
The nearest public telephone is located at the entrance to Sandyhills
Bay next to the shop/reception.
Although small, there are ample facilities at Sandyhills Bay itself. The
well stocked licensed shop keeps a host of souvenirs, sweets and provisions
to tempt you.
The beach itself is one of the best in the area and is accessible directly
from the Park. You could picnic in one of the sheltered coves or take
a stroll along the headland, whatever you decide you cannot help but enjoy
the beautiful countryside and beach at Sandyhills Bay.
A play area with swings and slide are on the Park to
keep the children busy when not on the beach building sand castles.
The well kept toilet block and laundry are nearby for getting everything
clean including wash-up areas for your pots and pans.
So, if you want accommodation or to bring your own tourer or tent, Sandyhills
Bay is the ideal place if you like the combination of sea, countryside
and a warm welcome.
Attractions
For those not wanting to spend all their time enjoying the Parks activities,
there are lots of days out in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway. Castles,
Museums, Gardens, Art Galleries, Potteries, Farms where the children can
enjoy ice cream, animals and play parks, in fact there is so much to do
you may need to come back and visit again.

stands at each park’s reception area.
Sporting activities
Visitors to Dumfries and Galloway are entering an unspoilt corner of Scotland.
We are fortunate to have an abundance of great things to do in the region
has not been spoilt by mass tourism.
This is the perfect destination to enjoy the great outdoors, with opportunities
for fishing, horse riding, sailing, water-sports, cycling, walking and
much more throughout our countryside.
DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre:
From Castle Douglas Tourist Information Centre take the Dalbeattie Road
off the roundabout. Follow this road until you reach the outskirts of
Dalbeattie. On entering Dalbeattie turn right onto the A710 Solway Coast
Road. The park entrance is on the right just after Colvend Golf Course.
Getting There by Railway:
From Dumfries Railway station take the A710 Dumfries/Dalbeattie Solway
Coast road. Park entrance is on left at Sandyhills Village.
Getting there by Aeroplane:
From Prestwick Airport take the A77 to Ayr then onto the A713 through
Dalmellington, New Galloway and Parton towards to A75 at Castle Douglas
(approximately 45 miles from Ayr). In Castle Douglas take the Dalbeattie
road off the roundabout and follow this road until you reach the outskirts
of Dalbeattie.
As you enter Dalbeattie turn right onto the A710 Solway Coast road. Park
entrance is on the right just after Colvend Golf Course.
Getting There by Ferry:
From Stranraer/Cairnryan take the A75 euro-route towards Dumfries. Go
into Castle Douglas and at the roundabout in the town take the Dalbeattie
road and follow it until you reach the outskirts of Dalbeattie. As you
enter Dalbeattie turn right onto the A710 Solway Coast road. The park
entrance is on the right just after Colvend Golf Course.
