Holiday Cottages are set on the beautiful Highland farm of Mountgerald.
Built in 1860 as stone barns and stables this stunning location overlooking
the Cromarty Firth and the famous Black Isle has been newly converted
to provide luxury accommodation in a rural setting.
It is only 1 mile from the Market town of Dingwall and 20 minutes from
the Highland Capital Inverness. It is the perfect base to explore the
mountains, glens and distilleries of the Scottish Highlands.
Mountgerald Holiday Cottage Accommodation
Each of our 4 luxury cottages has two bedrooms, (double
or twin by arrangement), flatscreen satellite televisions, unlimited free
Wi-Fi, under floor heating, and private garden with patio.
With stunning views South across the Cromarty Firth from almost every
room, native Highland cattle and sheep lazing in the surrounding fields,
it’s the perfect place to relax and take in the Highland atmosphere.
At the moment we have 4 cottages available, all named after the trees
growing on our farm. Look out for Seaview and Westview Cottage available
soon too.
Walnut Cottage offers 2 double/twin bedrooms, both en-suite.
Master bedroom with King-size bed has a balcony to take in the stunning
views to the west.
Downstairs offers a lounge with flat screen 42" Plasma TV with DVD
and freeview, 1 shower room and a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher,
washing machine, table and chairs for six people.
Access to the private garden and bbq area is gained through patio doors
from the lounge. Under floor gas central heating downstairs and radiators
upstairs. All gas, electricity, towels and linen are included.
Rowan Cottage offers 1 double and 1 good sized single
bedroom, Master bedroom has a king-size bed and is served by its own en-suite
bathroom whilst bedroom 2 is served by its own separate shower room. Upstairs
there is also a snug/study, which is equipped with a comfy sofa.
Downstairs offers a lounge with flat screen 42" Plasma TV with DVD
and freeview, 1 shower room and a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher,
washing machine, table and chairs for six people.
Access to the private garden and bbq area is gained through patio doors
from the lounge. Heating - Under floor gas central heating downstairs
and radiators upstairs. All gas, electricity, towels and linen are included.
Chestnut Cottage offers 2 double/twin bedrooms. Upstairs
is 1 family shower room with a further shower room downstairs.
Downstairs offers a lounge with sofa-bed and 42" flatscreen Plasma
TV, DVD and freeview, a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing
machine and table and chairs for six persons. Access to the private garden
and bbq area is gained through patio doors from the lounge.
The kitchen and lounge boast three arched windows to make the most of
the outstanding views. Heating – Under floor gas central heating
downstairs and radiators upstairs. All gas, electricity, towels and linen
are included.
Oak Cottage offers 1 double/twin bedroom and 1 good
sized single bedroom. Upstairs is 1 family shower room with a further
shower room downstairs.
Downstairs offers a lounge with 42" flatscreen Plasma TV, DVD and
freeview and a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine,
table and chairs for six persons. Access to the private garden and bbq
area is gained through patio doors from the lounge. Heating – Under

All cottages benefit from free unlimited Wi-Fi access.
Complimentary children’s play park is now available for the under
10s.
An introduction to Clay pigeon shooting will also be available in the
Winter months when livestock are inside.
Well behaved pets are welcome. We are on a working farm with lambs and
poultry so please keep dogs on a lead at all times.
Although in the country we are only 1 mile away from the vibrant town
of Dingwall where there is a railway station, 24 hour Tesco’s supermarket
who will deliver online orders, bars, restaurants, 8 takeaway restaurants,
hospital, museum, shops and an outdoor farmers market where fresh produce
can be bought directly from the producer.
A Train service runs from Dingwall to Inverness approximately every hour
with connections all over Scotland and the UK.
Special Occasion
Arrive in real style. We can arrange helicopter pickup from Inverness
Airport or a location of your choosing to drop you off on our helipad.

Going Green
We offer a range of fresh farm produce reared on our farm. Sit down to
a breakfast of sausages, bacon and eggs or a Highland steak and feel good
that it all came from within half a mile of your kitchen table!
Getting there from the Information Centre
From Tourist information, Castle Wynd, Inverness.
Head northeast on Castle Wynd towards Bridge St/B861 for 200ft, Left at
Bridge St/B861, Turn right at Bank St/B862, turn right at Friars Lane/B862,
Slight left at Friars Lane, Continue onto Chapel St/B865,
At Shore Street Roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Longman Rd/A82, Go
through 2 roundabouts, At Longman Roundabout, take 1st exit over bridge,
straight ahead on dual carriageway for 5 miles to Tore roundabout. Take
3rd exit (straight ahead) and drive across the Cromarty Bridge, reach
another roundabout and take the second exit (right) follow A9 north until
you see a sign for Evanton on the left. Take the slip road left. Take
second left then straight ahead for 3 miles. See a stone sign on your
left with Mountgerald in gold letters.
Getting There by Car
Follow the A9 North following signs for Inverness until you reach the
Longman roundabout. Take the second exit (straight on) over the bridge
and continue ahead on dual carriageway for 5 miles until the Tore roundabout.
Take the 3rd exit (straight ahead) and drive until you cross the Cromarty
Bridge and reach another roundabout.
Take the second exit (right) following the A9 northbound until you see
a sign for Evanton on the left. Take the slip road left. Now take second
left and see Evanton school pass on your left. Continue straight ahead
for 3 miles until you see a 2 metre stone sign on your left with Mountgerald
in gold letters.
Getting There by Railway
From the South. Various trains from London’s Kings Cross or Euston
are available to Inverness with a train from Inverness to Dingwall about
every hour.
Sleeper. Leave London Euston at 2116, arrive Inverness 0830 in the morning
having slept in a bed all night! Hop on the 0900 to Dingwall then cycle
or taxi to Mountgerald.
Trains from Edinburgh and Glasgow are also a great way to take in the
scenery on your journey to Inverness and Dingwall.
From the West. Reach Dingwall by Rail on the famous Kyle of Lochalsh line.
From the North. Numerous trains from Wick, Thurso Golspie and Tain to
Dingwall.
From the East. Take the train from Aberdeen to Inverness then Inverness
to Dingwall.
Getting there by Aeroplane
Travel by Air via Inverness Airport couldn’t be easier.
Daily services by EasyJet from London Gatwick, Luton and Bristol at reasonable

Flybe operate a great service from London Gatwick, Belfast City, Benbecula,
Birmingham, Jersey, Kirkwall, Manchester, Southampton, Stornoway, and
Sumburgh.
Loganair also operate in conjunction with Flybe to a number of Scottish
Islands.
