You can watch the Salmon leap at the Falls of Shin and a few miles further on visit the Ferrycroft Visitors Center near Lairg and experience an audio-visual journey into the past to discover the peoples who lived here hundreds and thousands of years ago.
Traveling north towards Caithness you pass through Brora and Helmsdale where you can visit The Timespan Center run by the Helmsdale Heritage Society. Caithness has an attractive wild coastline and day trips to the Orkney Islands are available from Scrabster and John O'Groats.
