Our Loch Ness Bed & Breakfast is situated in the peaceful and picturesque
village of Lewiston, adjoining the village of Drumnadrochit.
This family run bed and breakfast offers peace, relaxation and beautiful
views of the surrounding hills and countryside within Glenurquhart.
We are close to the Shores of Loch Ness, just a short stroll away, and
on the Great Glen Way.
Aslaich Accommodation
The Bed & Breakfast accommodation is situated in a private 3 bedroomed
bungalow adjoining the family home and includes a Lounge and Dining Room
with Satellite Television for guest use only.
Privacy and relaxation is assured.
The warm welcome and pleasant stay, great location, accessibility to surrounding
places interest and the large amount of ‘things to do’ in
and around Drumnadrochit, makes the Aslaich Bed and Breakfast an ideal
place to enjoy the Scottish Highlands.
Bedrooms & Amenities:
The Bed and Breakfast has 3 bedrooms to let, they are tastefully decorated,
clean and comfortable. Two bedrooms overlook the front of Aslaich and
one overlooks the back.
Room 1 can be used as a Twin/Kingsize Double/Triple
Room or a Family Room (Kingsize Double Bed & 1 Single Bed) and includes

Location:
Aslaich is within easy walking distance to Drumnadrochit village centre
where you will find an abundance of local businesses, including Cafes,
Bars, Restaurants, Pubs, Gift Shops and a Tourist Information Centre.
Its ideal location close to the Great Glen Way also makes the Aslaich
a good base to explore and take advantage of the many local interests,
especially Hill Walking, Woodland Walks, one of which leads you to the
banks of Loch Ness at Urquhart Bay, Golf, Horse Riding and Fishing, or
visit the two Loch Ness Exhibition Centres which reveal the sightings
of ‘Nessie’ from the very first one by St Columba in 565AD.
Furthermore, within 1 hour you could be visiting the 16 Munros of Glen
Affric, Culloden Battlefield, Fort William, Corrimony Chambered Cairn,
Glen Ord Distillery, Fort George, Moniack Winery, Urquhart Castle, Cannich
and the breathtaking scenery of Glen Affric.
You can drive around Loch Ness and visit the Falls of Foyers and Dores,
and, Inverness the Capital of the Highlands is only 14 miles from Drumnadrochit,
visit Inverness Castle, Ness Islands or just have a leisurely walk around
the high street shops and shopping centres.
Public Transport
Bus Services
There are 2 Bus Companies which travel daily to and from Drumnadrochit,
they are Rapsons & Citylink. These companies travel throughout the
Highlands and Islands. Therefore the services are very economical and
regular.
Furthermore, there are a few Bus Stop sin the Village of Drumnadrochit.
The Post Office Bus Stop is the one that is highlighted and the main stop
in the Village, however, if you want to come direct to the Bed & Breakfast,
then you require the Bus Stop closest to the Loch Ness Inn in Lewiston.
Aslaich Bed & Breakfast is the opposite side of the crossroads to
the Loch Ness Inn, on the same road as the Loch Ness Backpackers which
there is a sign for.
Please ask the Bus Driver to take you to the Bus Stop closest to the Loch
Ness Inn.
By Road
From Aberdeen - Take A96 to Inverness then A82 to Drumnadrochit.
From Edingburgh - Take A9 from Edinburgh to Inverness then A82 to Drumnadrochit.
From Glasgow - Take A82 from Glasgow to Drumnadrochit. From Inverness
There are regular bus services to Drumnadrochit; Hire cars are available
at the Railway Station and closeby, also taxis.
For those driving themselves follow signs for Fort William and Drumnadrochit
on the A82, a 14 mile drive past some delightful scenery will bring you
to Drumnadrochit, once you reach Drumnadrochit, then pass through the
Village on the A82 going to Fort William, you will come to the Village
of Lewiston, a 2 minute drive from Drumnadrochit, passed the sign for
Lewiston, you will see the 'Esso' Petrol Station on your right hand side.
Go past the Petrol Station and turn directly left at the Small Crossroads,
Aslaich is 100 meters down the Country Lane on your left hand side.
From the Tourist Information Centre in Drumnadrochit:
Turn right out of the Visitor Centre Car Park and follow the road through
Lewiston, go past the Esso Petrol Station and after a short distance turn
left at the small crossroads. Aslaich is 100 metres down the Country Lane
on the Right Hand Side.
From Fort William
Follow the A82 until you see the Sign for Lewiston, go past Borlum
Horse Riding Farm and Urquhart Castle, 5 minutes from the Castle you will
go over a small bridge, turn direclty right after the bridge, seeing a
Brown B&B sign on the bridge and a sign for 'Loch Ness backpackers',
we are down the country lane, about 200 meters from the main road. (if
you go past the Esso Petrol Station, you have gone too far).
By Air
Fly from Luton, Gatwick (London), Heathrow, Manchester, Leeds, Edingburgh,
Stansted and Belfast to Inverness Airport. The main Airlines are Eastern
Airways, Easyjet, British Midlands and British Airways. There are car
hire facilities (Hertz and Avis), bus services into Inverness and taxis.
From the Great Glen Way for Walkers & Cyclists
From Fort William
When you descend from the Great Glen Way, follow the sign to the A82 and
you will see a small bridge leading to Drumnadrochit, go over the bridge
and turn directly right down the country lane, you will see a sign for
'Loch Ness Backpackers', we are 100 metres from this.
From Inverness
When you descend from the Great Glen Way, opposite Temple Pier follow
the A82 to Drumnadrochit, go through Drumnadrochit and you will see the
sign for Lewiston, go past the Esso Petrol Station and after a short distance
turn left at the small crossroads. Aslaich is 100 metres down the Country
Lane on the Right Hand Side.

Balnain Bike Park is muscle-stretching, lung-bursting fun. It’s
the cycling equivalent of a skateboard park, just as testing of your skills
and every bit as energetic.
Runs and jumps, North Shore, singletrack, skinnies, the fun box, aerial
North Shore to test your balance and skills: use them to your limits for
a real adrenaline rush!
The park also has a skills development area . It's a great way to try
out some of the manoeuvres you'll need before putting them to the test.
Aside from the skills development area, the park is for experienced mountain
bikers and is graded double black.

By doing so we hope (albeit in a small way) to help maintain the surrounding
beauty and wildlife of Lewiston, Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness for the enjoyment
of all who live here and visit. A symbol of our commitment is our membership
of the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Under this scheme we have achieved
a Silver Award, a good grading of which we are extremely proud of.

· Using energy saving lighting
· Providing a natural habitat which encourages wildlife
· Becoming self sufficient in the planting of Fruit and Vegetable

· Providing Free Range Eggs from our 8 Chickens
· Promoting a no smoking environment for the benefit of our guests
· Providing adequate information for visitors explaining how we
are helping the environment.

· Guest towel policy whereby we only change towels when requested
to do so by guests

· Confirmation of all bookings by e mail thus reducing paper use
Aslaichs Initiatives to Reduce, Re-use & Recycle:

· Requests that Guests Recycle all recyclable materials by providing
relevant disposal products
· Double glazed windows to improve thermal performance
· Use the eco saving facility on the dishwasher to reduce water

· Re-use furniture and bed linens by donating to local charities
· Installation of low energy bulbs throughout the property
Local Support:
· We support our local environment, services and suppliers through
