This delightful cottage, built around 1900 and renovated in 2010, provides
a warm home on Skye in the heart of Boreraig, the ancient seat of the
MacCrimmon clan, pipers to the MacLeod chieftains.

The living area downstairs is a single open plan room with stone walls
and a fireplace for coal or wood, with traditional furnishings.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, one featuring the original children’s
box beds. Extensions to the original cottage house the bathroom and WC,
and provide a porch for your outdoor gear.

Nearby attractions include Dunvegan Castle and award
winning Three Chimneys restaurant. Superb walks on Dunvegan Head behind
cottage; deserted pebble beaches.
The walking in this part of Skye – Neist Point, MacLeod Maidens
and Table Mountains and Dunvegan Head – is magnificent and accessible.
Nearby Dunvegan Castle is a major Scottish attraction and restaurants
in the vicinity - The Three Chimneys and Loch Bay Seafoods - are justly
famous for their outstanding local produce. The secluded cottage garden
is a haven for relaxation.
Directions:
Getting There by Car:
Boreraig is in the far North West of Skye. Drive towards Dunvegan from
Kyle of Lochalsh, turn off towards Glendale and follow signpost after
6 miles. The cottage is the last but one building in Boreraig with a white
wooden gate and sign.
Getting There by Railway:
At Inverness station many car rentals are available: the drive is about
3 hours. Or take the beautiful local train across the Highlands from Inverness
to Kyle of Lochalsh and rent a car or take a taxi from there (90 minute
drive).
Getting there by Aeroplane:
Local airport is Inverness where there many car rental options.
Getting There by Ferry:
For a scenic experience, instead of the Skye Bridge take the Glenelg-Kylerhea
ferry if driving from Inverness. Or, if driving via Fort William, take
the Mallaig-Armadale ferry.
