The Starvilla is a victorian terrace house built in the 1870. It has many
beautiful period features, high ceilings, cornices raw iron staircase.
Warm and friendly, family run home within walking distance to the city
centre and all major attractions. We serve freshly cooked breakfast every
morning. Most of our bedrooms are ensuite and some of them have views
of Edinburgh Castle.

breakfast or choose from our extensive breakfast menu.
All rooms have flat screened LCD televisions with freeview and free wifi

We are also ideally situated for theatre lovers with the Kings Theatre,
Usher hall, & the Lyceum all close at hand.
All our rooms have fresh linen & towels, unlimited tea/coffee facilities,

views to the castle.

advice on train times to the Highlands, Highland tours, or Glasgow and

a traditional Haggis, pint of Edinburgh Ale, or the best seat to order
a Scottish Whisky.
Edinburgh is host to a number of festivals during the year, the largest
being the Fringe Festival in August.
Directions
By Plane
The nearest airport is Edinburgh. From there you can take the bus airlink
number 100 leaving directly from the exit and get off at Haymarket train
station go onto Grove street turn right at the end then over the canal
turn left onto Gilmore place. It will only take 10 minutes walking or
a few minutes by taxi.
By train
The main train station is Waverly. The Starvilla is only a short taxi
ride. You can catch a number 10 bus from Princes Street on the garden
side, get off at Gilmore Place. We are house number 36.
By car
Coming from the airport follow city centre signs. Turn right at the Caledonian
Hotel following the A702 (Carlisle) and turn right at the Kings Theatre.
From the South leave the city by-pass on the A702 and follow signs for
the city centre turning left at the Kings Theatre. Once at Gilmore Place
you'll find us at house no 36.
By bus
There is also a choice of buses which are going from Princes Street to
Tollcross (not straight to Gilmore Place but it is a minutes walking distance)
no: 11, 15, 16, 17. No 10 goes directly to Gilmore Place from Princes
Street.
