Blinkbonny
House is a beautiful detached bungalow built in the 1930's on what was
formerly an apple orchard, part of the old Blinkbonnie Estate, (later
changed to Blinkbonny) situated on the west side of Edinburgh in one of
the finest districts of the city.
Blinkbonny House Accommodation
Rooms:
• Double En-Suite
Double bedroom, Large en-suite shower room with double sized power shower.
South facing room to the front of the house onto a quiet street. This
beautifully decorated room has a king sized bed.
• Double En-Suite
A large north facing Double bedroom beautifully decorated to a very high
standard with king sized bed and large en-suite bathroom with double sized
power shower.
• Twin / Double - Private Shower Room.
A large twin or double room overlooking the rear of the property with
spectacular views across the surrounding area. This room has a private
shower room.
Blinkbonny House Bed and Breakfast Facilities:
• Colour TV and Tea and Coffee making facilities are available in
each room.
• Blinkbonny House is strictly non-smoking. However, if you do wish
to smoke an area is provided in the garden.
• Central Heating throughout with individual thermostats in each
room.
• Hairdryers and Ironing facilities are available in each room.
Our house sits on an elevated position overlooking a tree-lined park
to the rear of the property.
The rooms to the rear of the house have a spectacular outlook over the
surrounding area.
Location:
Blinkbonny House is in an excellent location for easy access into the
city centre. It is only a 5 minute bus ride to Princes Street or a pleasant
20 minute walk past some of Edinburgh’s splendid Victorian dwellings
and tree lined streets.
Blinkbonny House Bed & Breakfast is situated in the Ravelston area
of Edinburgh. This is a quiet residential area very close to all amenities
with easy access into the city centre of Edinburgh.
Within easy walking distance the shops and gardens of Princes Street,
Edinburgh Castle, the National Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Botanical
Gardens, Murrayfield Rugby Stadium and Stockbridge, a conservation area
renowned for its antique shops and excellent restaurants.
Also only a few minutes walk to the Craigleith Shopping Centre where you
will find a large supermarket with restaurant, Chemist’s, and many
more shops.
About Blinkbonny House:
We are a small family run B&B and we aim to cater for all
of your needs. We will provide you with a front door key so that you can
come and go as you please.
We are happy to greet you from late flights and ensure that you get a
cooked breakfast for those early starts. A full Scottish breakfast, cereals
of your choice, porridge, or enjoy a lighter alternative of cheese, fruit,
bread, yoghurts. Vegetarians are happily catered for.
Breakfast is freshly cooked for you when you arrive in
our lovely sunny dining room with individual or family tables. Each table
is dressed with quality pieces of China and silverware.
Please enjoy as many re-fills of Fresh Orange Juice, Tea and Coffee as
you wish. Breakfast times are very flexible, so if you need an early start
or would like a long lie, just let us know.

Directions:
• Regular bus services from Queensferry Road to and from the city
centre. From the city centre, bus stops are in George VI Bridge, Princes
Street, The Mound and Queensferry Street.
• Bus Stop to disembark: Orchard Road Bus Stop, Queensferry Road
(At the bottom of Orchard Road South).By Road
• From Edinburgh Airport - Head East along A8.
At Maybury Traffic Lights branch left towards Barnton. At Barnton traffic
lights, turn right following signs for city centre. Follow road (2 kilometres
approx) to Craigleith traffic lights (petrol station on right, shopping
centre on left). Straight through junction - signposted (A90 - West End,
City Centre) and take the first turning on the right into Craigleith Drive,
then first left into Blinkbonny Gardens.
• From North (Forth Road Bridge), Head South following
signs for city centre. At Barnton traffic lights, head straight on along
Queensferry Road (A90 - approximately 2 kilometres) to Craigleith traffic
lights (petrol station on right, shopping centre on left). Straight through
junction - signposted (A90 - West End, City Centre) and take the first
turning on the right into Craigleith Drive, then first left into Blinkbonny
Gardens.
• From West M8, follow signs for Edinburgh Airport
and take up directions above.
• From South, find your way on to Edinburgh city
Bypass and head West. At Gyle roundabout (at the end of the Bypass), turn
right towards city centre.
At Maybury Traffic lights, branch left towards Barnton. At Barnton traffic
lights, turn right following signs for city centre. Follow road (approximately
2 kilometres) to Craigleith traffic lights (petrol station on right, shopping
