This
property is a bright one-bedroom mews house on two floors in a peaceful
central location beside the famous Grassmarket, and within easy walking
distance of the major tourist attractions, festival venues, shops, nightlife
and transport connections.
With windows to the front and back, the spacious living room is full
of light and has a stunning view of Edinburgh Castle. There is a comfortable
dining area.
The three-seater sofa converts in to a double sofabed, and a comfortable
armchair, attractive rugs, a TV/DVD and a selection of books and DVDs
complete the home comforts. The front door opens on to a sunny shared
courtyard.
A spiral staircase from the dining area leads down to the bedroom and
bathroom. The double bedroom is fully carpeted and attractively furnished.
The bathroom has a wash-hand basin and bathtub with shower over.
The modern kitchen is well provided with crockery, cutlery, glasses
and kitchenware, as well as a washing machine (there is a clothes horse
for drying clothes), fridge-freezer, cooker and microwave.
The house has full central heating; the price of electricity and local
taxes is included.

Getting there from the Information Center
Turn left onto Princes Street. Take first left onto Waverley Bridge. Walk
down to crossroads. Turn right, walk up Market Street, then left to follow
street up The Mound, round onto Bank Street to traffic lights. Cross Royal
Mile, walk along George IV Bridge. Take first turning on right: Victoria
Street. Follow Victoria St to bottom onto Grassmarket. Turn right, walk
to far end of Grassmarket. The road ‘West Port’ is on left.
From Grassmarket, walk along West Port on right-hand side of road. When
you reach Chapel Wynd, keep going for a few meters: there are gates on
right signed ‘Webster’s Land’ above. Go through gate,
continue down main stairs. Continue straight down 6 narrower steps, after
which turn right then left. Continue to front door ahead of you: signed
‘11 King’s Stables Lane’.
Getting There by Car
We recommend you look at the Route Planner at www.theAA.com (key in ‘EH1
2DP’ in the destination/to window: this will lead you to the Castle
Terrace car park). There is metered parking on Grassmarket and on King’s
Stables Road, or a better option is to leave your car at the Castle Terrace
Car Park, which is 5 minutes away by foot. Parking costs £3.70 for
2 hours or £15.90 for 24 hours. The car park is open 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week. Parking on meters and single-yellow lines is free
from 6.30pm to 7.30am and all day on Sunday; parking is forbidden at all
times on double-yellow lines.
Getting There by Railway
By foot: Exit station by Market Street, cross road, turn right. Go straight
on at roundabout, continue up hill. At end of Market St turn left up The
Mound, round onto Bank Street to traffic lights. Cross Royal Mile, walk
along George IV Bridge. Take first right: Victoria Street. Follow Victoria
St to bottom onto Grassmarket. Turn right, walk to far end of Grassmarket.
