Welcome to The Royal Hotel. Built by a whisky baron as a private residence, this house dates back to the middle of the last century and is now a grade B Listed Building. It has many interesting architectural features and boasts a most attractive neo Louis XV main stairway. The Lounge Bar, once a billiards room, has a most unusual beamed ceiling and is the perfect way to enjoy a drink and relax by the open marble fireplace. Much of the character of the original house has been retained in the public area with high moulded ceilings and rich drapes. Rendezvous At the Royal is an Elgin based restaurant situated within the Royal Hotel, close to the town centre. We aim to provide fresh dishes which reflect the best of the season. Our produce is high quality, sourced locally and produced on site. In our recently refurbished restaurant you can be assured of a high class dining experience with excellent service. Royal Hotel AccommodationAt The Royal Hotel we set the standards that others aspire to. The annex which was built in 1997 has 8 letting bedrooms made up of 4
doubles and 4 twins. The Reception at The Royal Hotel can assist you when it comes to a great day out, reduced green fees have been negotiated at most local golf courses and there is a huge selection of excellent courses, many of them championship courses within minute's drive from the hotel. Fishing in this part of Scotland (Grampian/Speyside) includes the world famous River Spey as well as the rivers Findhorn, Isla, Lossie and Deveron. The Spey is one of the classic salmon rivers of Scotland. The Spey rises over 100 miles to the west and by the time it reaches Grantown it is a big river. The river has some great runs of salmon with over 8,000 fish taken each year. The Lounge Bar, once a billiards room, has a most unusual beamed ceiling
and is the perfect way to enjoy a drink or bar meal and relax in a less
formal atmosphere by the open marble fireplace. The ideal location for that quiet drink after a long day on the road.
