Hawthorn is a 100-year-old detached house on the banks of the River Lochy, on the outskirts of Fort William. The house has good views of Ben Nevis, Aonach Mhor, Glen Nevis and surrounding hills. A short walk away is the 'Tail Race' - a renowned spot for fishermen, with lovely walks by the Lochy and Old Inverlochy Castle. The Great Glen Walk route passes Hawthorn on its way to the Caledonian Canal and Neptunes Staircase and onwards to Inverness. Hawthorn is on the B8006, 2 miles north of Fort William. There are pubs, restaurants, shops and various tourist attractions close by. The bus stop is 50 yards away, giving access to the main bus and rail routes in Fort William. A great central location for hill walking, climbing, mountain biking and sight seeing.
