Fort William Hotels'Whin' is Scottish for Gorse - a bright yellow flowered bush that blooms profusely all over the hill in spring - 'brae' is of course Scottish for hill - hence Whinbrae - yellow flowered hill - onto which the growing town of Fort William has spread, and where you will find Whinbrae.

Fort William is set on the shores of Loch Linnhe, amongst Scotland's most spectacular scenery - The Highlands - and is the ideal base for a variety of activities and interests.
