Breakfast:
We all agree breakfast is the most important meal of the day and here at Merchant City Inn we treat it with the respect it deserves. Relax in our modern pine ambience and order your fully cooked breakfast from our friendly staff.

Breakfast is served from 7am to 8.45am from Monday to Friday and from 7am to 9.30am Saturday and Sunday. Our time range permits you to enjoy breakfast and then fulfil your daily engagements.

Fruit juice, tea and coffee should wet your appetite whilst pondering over what tantalising smell from the kitchen will appeal to you most. We serve your breakfast as efficiently as possible after advising us what your preference is each day.

We guarantee that when you leave our breakfast room you will be recharged and ready for your day ahead.

Business and corporate:
Glasgow is head office to many institutions and retailers and as such attracts many business travellers as well as tourists. Glasgow is also home to many international branches and includes a network of major financial institutions and shops.

Travellers have the choice of 2 international airports; Glasgow Airport and Prestwick Airport. Edinburgh airport is only 40 miles east of Glasgow. Glasgow has train connections linking it around the UK and connecting with ferries also.

Directions:
By road:

- If you are travelling westbound on the M8, exit at junction 15 and follow signs to Glasgow Royal Infirmary which you should pass on your left hand side. Castle Street leads onto High Street and a right turn should be taken at Ingram Street. Travel straight on down Ingram Street and turn left at Glassford Street, then 1st right into Wilson Street, then immediately left into Virginia Street. The Merchant City Inn is at the corner of Wilson Street and Virginia Street. If you are travelling eastbound on the M8, exit at Kirkintilloch keeping left.
At first junction turn left and then first right at the traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights turn right and travel in a south eastern direction down Castle Street turning right into Ingram Street.
Travel straight on down Ingram Street and turn left at Glassford Street, then 1st right into Wilson Street, then immediately left into Virginia Street.
The Merchant City Inn is at the corner of Wilson Street and Virginia Street.

By subway:
-The nearer subway stations are Buchanan Street and St. Enoch’s, St Enoch’s is slightly nearer to the Merchant City Inn. From Buchanan Street subway, pedestrians should head east for George Square and turn right at Frederick Street heading south until reaching Virginia Street.
From St.Enoch’s subway station pedestrians should head east along Argyll Street turning left into Virginia Street. The Merchant City Inn is at the right hand side of the Wilson Street junction.

By bus:
- From Buchanan Street Bus Station bus numbers 203, 240, 255, 262, 263 and 267 have a stop on Virginia Street. This should be confirmed at the station including exact times. First Glasgow: 0141 423 6600, Stagecoach: 0141 552 4961.By rail:-Glasgow’s 2 inner city railway stations; Glasgow Central and Queen Street are only a short taxi drive from the hotel. Airports:- Glasgow Airport, Paisley, Renfrewshire, PA3 2SW.Distance: Glasgow Airport is approximately 15 miles from the city centre.

Glasgow:
Glasgow oozes with energy and style from the heart of the city centre, around the cultural Merchant City area to the trendy West End. All around the River Clyde has been transformed and recently a new bridge nicknamed the “squinty bridge” provides another welcome vehicular access to the south side of the city.

The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum attracts loads of visitors daily due to its captivating exhibitions. It is home to Salvador Dali’s Christ of St John of the Cross. It is situated in the city’s famous Kelvingrove Park and is directly opposite the fascinating Transport Museum.

In time the Transport Museum will be replaced with a Riverside Museum where the River Clyde meets the River Kelvin at Glasgow Harbour. Designers are working on what promises to be a fascinating exhibit of transport in Glasgow.

Arta:

Glasgow Cathedral:
Majestically standing next to Saint Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life and Art is Glasgow’s own cathedral. Patron Saint of Glasgow, St Mungo has his tomb in the lower church of the cathedral. The original rebuilt cathedral dates back to the 13th century.

Merchant Square:

Provand’s Lordship:
Provand’s Lordship is a medieval house situated opposite Saint Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art. The first floor has seventeenth century furniture gifted by Sir William Burrell. More of Sir William Burrell’s collections can be enjoyed in Pollock Park in the Southside of Glasgow.

Saint Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art:
The aim of this museum is to promote an understanding of different faiths and also of non belief. The museum has various galleries and exhibitions. At the end of your trip browse through the gift shop for memorabilia.

The Lighthouse:
The Lighthouse was designed by Glasgow’s own Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The interior is a tribute to his works and includes scale models of buildings and furniture that he designed. Spanning 6 floors with the top floor offering panoramic views of Glasgow. There is also a gift shop and rooftop café/bar.
