Hawick hotel Ideally situated on a mixed working hill farm offering tranquility without isolation, just one mile from Hawick, shops, restaurants, leisure centre and award winning park.

This original semi detached farm workers cottage nestles at the head of a valley which is approached along the farm road which ends at the cottage offering total peace from noise and traffic.

A little stream runs in front of the cottage and there are glorious uninterrupted views of the hills and grazing stock. Wiltonburn is a 400 acre mixed farm and we have cattle, sheep, horses, cats, dogs and geese. You might well see red squirrels, rabbits, hares, herons, buzzards and badgers!

Willowherb Cottage Accommodation

The cottage retains many of the original features and have open fires in the sitting room, with electric storage and panel heaters in other rooms. There is an enclosed garden with rustic picnic facility and a barbeque.

Willowherb has three bedrooms; Sleeps 5 (plus one Z Bed or cot if required). Upstairs, one double and one single room. Downstairs, one double room, toilet and bathroom with shower over bath, kitchen and larder, Lounge/dining room. Suitable for elderly or semi disabled guests.

Bed Linen Duvets and blankets on beds. Please bring your own sheets and towels. Bed linen available for hire at a small charge per person. Please advise if required. Fuel Electricity by coin meter 1 bag of house coal included in the rent. Additional supplies are available at current price.

Electric shower hot water by immersion heater, switch in corner of main bedroom.

Pet Policy
Pets by arrangement, please bring dog beds or blankets and do not allow on the furniture. Also please keep dogs under control and try not to let them foul near the front door or parking area. Thank you!

Check in After 3.00pm Saturdays (other days/times by arrangement). Check out before 10.00am on Saturdays.

Horses Welcome
Bring your own horse to Wiltonburn or hire one at one of the local stables and find yourself in horse heaven in the Scottish Borders. We have stabling for 3 horses plus sheep shed accommodation and grazing available.

South of Scotland Countryside Trails is a 350km network of quiet off-road routes for walkers, horse-riders and cyclists linking to the Pennine Bridleway, Border Country Ride and other long distance routes. Few and far between are there places left where you can enjoy the solitude and unspoilt countryside still to be found in Scotland.

Striding high on the hills above Wiltonburn or ambling through hidden valleys, you will feel a million miles from the stresses and strains of life.

The 95km (57 miles) Buccleuch Country Ride offers seven routes through stunning Borders scenery in the Hawick and Selkirk areas and is marked with blue and white horseshoe signs.

DIRECTIONS
Take A7 south out of Hawick towards Carlisle for one mile. Pick up the brown signs for Wiltonburn Country Cashmeres / B & B / Farmstay. Turn right onto B711 Roberton Road, and turn immediately right after crossing bridge.

Follow the road along the riverside keeping left around a corner and on through and “no through road sign”. Continue straight on and please do not turn in at Briery Hill even if “sat nav” tells you to! At the road end (not up track) turn right and B & B or shop customers please park in car park in front of shop.

For self catering continue past car park keeping left to Willowherb which is the second cottage.
