John Bell House Accommodation

The house provides ideal accommodation for two families in two separate wings, each containing two bedrooms and a bathroom. This beautiful, spacious property overlooks a delightful courtyard.

It is set amidst parkland with fields of grazing cows, and has a wonderful view of the castle. Named after the stonemason who built the castle, the property has many original features and contains some fine pieces of antique furniture.

Ground floor: dining room, large fully-refurbished fitted kitchen with Aga and separate utility room, cloakroom with WC.

First floor: spacious sitting room, four bedrooms (two twin, one single and one double), two bathrooms (one with bath and shower over bath, and one with bath only). Central heating.

Each wing also has its own turret and original spiral stone staircase with stair gates provided to safeguard young children.

This property is also available for events such as wedding receptions. Please note that additional activities must be agreed in advance with the Property Manager and this will incur an additional charge.

About the Property
The most sophisticated example of Scottish Baronial architecture owned by the National Trust for Scotland, Castle Fraser was begun around 1575. The extensive grounds are full of interest, with a delightful formal garden, estate trails and adventure playground.

Attractions and Activities
Castle Fraser is the most sophisticated example of Scottish Baronial architecture owned by the National Trust for Scotland, building of which began in 1575. The extensive grounds in which the Castle is set are full of interest, with a delightful formal garden, estate trails and an adventure playground.

Situated 3 miles south of Kenmay and 16 miles west of Aberdeen, makes this an ideal centre for touring.

The Region

From Aberdeen Airport, take the A96 to Inverurie and then take the B993 to Kenmay, the castle is signposted from there.
