Craigmaha Lodge is a self catering lodge on the banks of Loch Tay in Perthshire. It provides delightful two bedroom detached self-catering accommodation in the heart of Perthshire in the Scottish Highlands. It is a perfect retreat set within a private estate and surrounded by stunning scenery. Situated in the grounds of the Loch Tay Highland Lodge Park, Craigmaha is a Scandinavian Pine lodge built to the highest specification. It is in an ideal location to explore the Perthshire countryside and the surrounding area. Craigmaha Lodge AccommodationCraigmaha Lodge is south facing and has its own private verandah, with table and chairs, which looks out across Loch Tay to the hills beyond. It is fitted out to a superior standard providing comfortable home-from-home self catering accommodation. The stunning Highland location allows visitors to choose between a relaxing
break or go for a more energetic activity based holiday. Either way, the
lodge provides an ideal year-round destination for couples and families
alike. On entering the lodge, there is a large open plan living/dining and kitchen area, all of which enjoy the stunning views out across Loch Tay and the harbour through the front floor-to-ceiling windows. The living and dining area provides the perfect environment for relaxing with a good book, observing life on the loch or snuggling up with your loved one to watch your favourite film. You will find the newly refurbished fitted kitchen fully equipped with everything you would expect including a cooker, microwave, washer/dryer and a fridge. The central hallway leads off the main living area and gives access to the two bedrooms – one double and one twin and the family sized bathroom. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe space and bedside cabinets and lamps. The bathroom has a bath and power-shower. All bed linen and electricity costs are included. A hairdryer is also provided. There is also a storage/drying room at the end of the main hallway in the lodge for any wet weather gear or wetsuits. Free and ample parking is provided on the lodge’s own private graveled driveway situated to the side of the property. It has housed the Stone of Destiny and been immortalized in Shakespeare's Macbeth. Getting Around Perthshire by Bike, and Walks Cycling for Leisure The area around Loch Tay has some great scenic routes of varying levels of difficulty, so you don't necessarily have to be super fit to make the most of them. Walking Most can be tackled by anyone of average fitness, and the views on offer are worth the effort! It does pay to be well prepared before you go out on the hill though and the weather can change very quickly at all times of the year. Fishing Yorkshire pebble boats can be hired from the marina at Loch Tay which is just 200 yards from Craigmaha Lodge. DIRECTIONS From Edinburgh Take the exit at Junction 10 and turn left onto the A84. Follow this through Callander and Lochearnhead. The road then goes up and over Glen Ogle and once you are at the bottom of the other side, turn right towards Killin (if you pass Lix Toll garage you’ve gone too far!). After approximately 3 miles you will enter Killin village. Continue through the village and keep on the same road for a further 3 miles. Loch Tay Highland Lodge Park is on the right and the entrance is well signposted. From Glasgow The road then goes up and over Glen Ogle and once you are at the bottom of the other side, turn right towards Killin (if you pass Lix Toll garage you’ve gone too far!). From Kenmore/ North East Scotland Edinburgh International Airport Flights There are over 40 flights from London to Edinburgh every day and the average flight time, capital to capital, is about an hour. There are also regular services to Edinburgh from other major UK airports and frequent scheduled flights from 40 European airports - from Amsterdam to Zurich. If you're heading to the city from the other side of the Atlantic, Continental Airlines offer a daily flight form New York's Newark airport direct to Edinburgh Airport. Plus many transatlantic flights land at Glasgow International Airport, just an hour's drive away. Train Travel to Edinburgh ScotRail operate an overnight service, the Caledonian Sleeper, between London (Euston) and Edinburgh 6 nights a week. Edinburgh train station has great rail links to other major cities too. York, Newcastle, Inverness and Aberdeen are all about 2 hours away by train, and Glasgow is just 50 minutes away on the First ScotRail shuttle service which leaves Waverley train station every 15 minutes.
