The Dining Room
The dining table is set ready for breakfast. Help yourself to fruit, fruit juice and cereal while we cook a full Scottish Breakfast. Perhaps some porridge, followed by egg, bacon, tomato, sausage, black pudding, hash browns, or a selection of your own choice.

We do not prepare evening dinner in house; there are several pubs and restaurants in Killin where you may eat very well.

The Lounge
Relax in the residents' lounge with the morning paper, or prepare a route plan for the day ahead. The bay window faces east with views towards Loch Tay. In the evening relax after a long walk in the hills or after a pleasant day touring our beautiful countryside.

About Killin
The highlands of Scotland is without doubt the most beautiful part of Britain. It has everything from hills to mountains to rivers and lochs. Crystal clear water and clean fresh air create the healthiest environment imaginable!

The main street in Killin is flanked by attractive stone-built cottages and larger Victorian houses. With the backdrop of the Tarmachan Hills, this is a popular and photogenic village in all seasons and all weathers.

There are several shops, Tourist Information Centre, a bank (with Autoteller), a post office, hotels with public bars, public houses and more. There are lots of places to visit, including National Trust areas, standing stones and historical sites; the disbanded railway track is open for walkers and cyclists.

Our guest house is situated right in the centre of the village looking out towards the Loch.

The winter snow delights the hardy mountaineers; springtime brings a variety of unusual flowers especially on nearby Ben Lawers; summertime is for folk festivals and Highland Games; in autumn there's the blazing colours, game hunting and whisky tasting to savour.

At any time of year you can go walking.

The Rob Roy Way
The Rob Roy Way is a walk from north Glasgow to Pitlochry, by way of Killin and Loch Tay.

The Falls of Dochart by the bridge in Killin is a pleasant spot to sit when the rock slabs run dry, and a spectacular white water torrent in wet weather. These waters flow into Loch Tay and both the river and the loch attract fishermen.

The hills and woods attract a great variety of wildlife and birds. Look for red squirrels on Inchbuie, the sacred island of the MacNabs, accessible from Killin bridge; or walk beside the River Lochay to Loch Tay to see water-birds and more.

DIRECTIONS
From the south via Stirling through Callander on the A84 and over Glen Ogle to the junction at Lix Toll - where there is a garage and Filling Station.

Alternatively, from Glasgow or Glasgow airport, take the A82 around Loch Lomond to Crianlarich; turn right and travel 10 miles to Lix Toll.

At Lix Toll turn onto the A827 for a couple of miles, crossing the Falls of Dochart on the narrow bridge into the village of Killin. Fairview is on the left, half-way down Main Street and is clearly signed, although the drive up to the car park behind may catch you by surprise on your first visit.
