The Priory Star B&B was newly built in 2001 and is located within a typical quaint Scottish village, 30 miles from Edinburgh, and 25 miles from St Andrews, and ideally situated for day trips out to visit the numerous local tourist attractions within Fife.
It is approximately a 1 hour drive to our capital city Edinburgh, Glasgow, Loch Lomond and Perthshire. Markinch is also a main line rail station with excellent links to all of our major cities.The village of Star is peaceful, quiet and our own very friendly local village pub & Restaurant, just 2 minutes walk will provide you with excellent food, drink and friendly atmosphere.
The Priory Star Accommodation
Our rooms, accommodation and grounds are finished to very high standards and boast Visit Scotland 4 * rating. We guarantee first class genuine Scottish Hospitality, excellent full Scottish breakfast, all at very moderate B&B nightly rates. Use of the gymnasium facilities is free.
There is a small charge for use of our Sauna & Solarium and access to the Sauna Showering facility is subject to occupancy of our ground floor private bathroom facility.

The Priory Star is located in the centre of Fife 3 miles from Glenrothes and less than 2 miles from Markinch. The maximum travel time by road to over 40 of Fifes Top Golf Courses, including World Famous St Andrews Old Course is only 30 minutes.

DIRECTIONS
Getting There by Car:
skip By car from Edinburgh follow signs for FORTH ROAD BRIDGE. Cross the
bridge into Fife and follow M90 Motorway. At Junction 2A take A92 Road
signposted KIRKCALDY/GLENROTHES.
Take the A92 Road for approx 19 Miles follow signs for DUNDEE/ ST ANDREWS. After leaving Glenrothes and re-joining the dual carriageway road after 150M turn Right signposted KENNOWAY/STAR.
Follow signs for STAR. Turn sharp Left into the village of STAR. Follow the Main Road through the village and The Priory is on the Right, exactly 1 Mile from the Road Junction into the Village.
Getting There by Railway:
From Edinburgh Rail Station take a train to Markinch. The train journey
takes 45 Minutes. the priory is a 10 Minute Taxi Drive from Markinch Station.
From Glasgow take trains to Edinburgh and change for trains to Markinch. Glasgow to Edinburgh by train is Approx 40 Minutes.
Getting there by Aeroplane:
By air into Edinburgh Airport which is 25 Miles from The Priory. There
are Bus Transfers from Edinburgh Airport to Edinburgh Rail Station.
By Air to Glasgow Airport which is approx 80 Miles from The Priory. There are bus links from Glasgow Airport to rail Stations in Glasgow.
