Special consideration was taken prior to the project commencement to ensure the design of the apartments made best possible use of this magnificnet old church. the result is well proportioned rooms built to an exceptional standard. The apartments are situated in the village of Finstown, 10 minutes from the Royal Burgh of Kirkwall and the town of Stromness. For visitors without their own transport, the apartments are situated on the main bus routes from Stromness and Kirkwall. |
The village of Finstown has two shops and a pub.Walk through the door
to any of the three apartments and the traditional stone church exterior
belies the luxurious, modern interior.

From the nearest information centre
From Kirkwall T.I.C. go out on to Junction Road. Follow the A965 towards
Stromness onto Finstown (7miles). The Auld Kirk Apartments are on the
left hand side, opposite the junction A966 signposted Evie.
From Stromness T.I.C.
Take the A965 towards Kirkwall. After approx 8 miles you reach the village
of Finstown and The Auld Kirk Apartments are on the right hand side opposite
the junction A966 signposted Evie.
By railway
Scotrail from all Scottish departures to either Thurso, Wick
or Aberdeen. see www.scotrail.co.uk
By aeroplane
British Airways (BA) either from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness
or Sumburgh (Shetland).
From airport turn right follow road to Kirkwall, then take A965 road towards Stromness as far as Finstown (7 miles), Auld Kirk Apartments are on left hand side opposite the junction to A966 signposted Evie
By ferry
Pentland Ferries from Gills Bay to St Margaret's Hope. NorthLink Ferries
from Aberdeen or Lerwick to Kirkwall and from Scrabster to Stromness.
John o' Groats ferries from John o' Groats to Burwick (May - September).
From St. Margaret's Hope follow A961 road to Kirkwall, then A965 towards
Stromness as far as Finstown. The Auld Kirk Apartments are on the left
hand side, opposite the junction A966 signposted Evie.
From Stromness ferry terminal, take the A965 towards Kirkwall. After approx
8 miles you reach the village of Finstown and The Auld Kirk Apartments
are on the right hand side opposite the junction A966 signposted Evie.
