Largs hotel A warm welcome awaits you at our comfortable, four star rated guesthouse, situated close to the seafront in a quiet, residential area of Largs.

Jennifer and Ian Henderson have over 30 years experience in the hospitality business and their high standards of service and excellent accommodation are testimony to this.

Whin Park Guest House Accommodation

Our four guest rooms combine modern and the traditional and are decorated to a high standard. With comfortable, quilted bedding, each room has en-suite facilities, TV, hospitality tray and wireless internet access.

Our bedrooms are on the first floor (there are 15 steps between ground and first) and comprises 2 Double, 1 Twin and 1 Single. Beds are dressed with fine quality linen and are accessorized with toiletries and luxurious towels.

CHECK-IN is available any time after 3-00pm. If earlier check-in is required please enquire in advance.
CHECK-OUT Rooms should be vacated by 10-00am on day of departure.

BREAKFAST is served between 8-00am and 9-00am. If an earlier breakfast is required please enquire in advance.

Pets
Sorry but we have no facilities to accommodate any pets.

Whin Park also offers off street parking and is within easy walking distance of the town centre with its shops, local cafes, restaurants and bars. It is an ideal base to explore this popular seaside town, the Isle of Cumbrae, with its town, Millport, as well as the Isle of Bute (Rothesay), Arran (Scotland in miniature) and other areas of the West of Scotland.

Things to See and Do
Walk the Promenade
The promenade runs from Aubery Crescent in the North to Largs Marina in the South (approx 2 miles) and this walk forms part of the Ayrshire Coastal Path. It also provides an easy walk or cycle passing along the seafront offering views of different parts of the town and surrounding area. Refreshments are available in the Marina for those who need a boost for the return trip.

The Heritage Centre in St Columba’s Parish Church & Largs Museum.
The Heritage Centre provides historical background information on Largs and an Audio Trail takes you around the places of interest in the town. St Columba’s is the Church with the clock in the spire.

Largs Museum
Situated in Manse Court, just off the Main Street, between the George Hotel & the TGO shop. It contains a considerable amount of information and items relating to Largs and the surrounding area.

The Vikingar Centre is on the main road just opposite the Lifeboat station. It explores Largs’ links with the Vikings and includes an interactive experience, as well as a swimming pool children’s play area theatre etc.

Golf and Putting
Largs has 2 golf courses, the private Largs Golf Club which is at the south end of town and the public course Routenburn Golf Club which is at the North end of town. Both clubs welcome visitors. In addition Ayrshire has many other courses including two championship courses 1 at Troon and 1 at Turnberry.

The town also has 2 Putting Greens, one in front of the Vikingar Centre and the other at Mackerston which is South of the Pier and just beyond the War Memorial.

Childrens Play Area
Also at Mackerston and adjacent to the putting green is a large children’s play area.

Bowling and 10 Pin Bowling
Largs has 3 Bowling Greens:- Largs Bowling Club in Brisbane Road, Hawkshill Bowling Club in Wilson Street and Douglas Park Bowling Club on Irvine Road. 10 Pin Bowling is available in Lanes at the pier.

The Waverley Paddle Steamer
During the summer offers sailing excursions from Largs Pier to many areas within the Firth of Clyde. For details of all sailings visit.

In the Surrounding Area
Kelburn Castle & Country Centre at Fairlie offers a range of activities. Isle of Cumbrae and the town of Millport are just a short ferry ride from Largs. The island is a popular destination for many people with cycling one of the main activities on offer. Bicycles to suit all needs can be hired by the hour in Millport.

Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park is an area of hill and moor land which lies to the North and east of Largs.

DIRECTIONS
Coming from the North on the A78 follow the road into the outskirts of town and look out for a brown traffic sign on your left hand side which indicates to National Sports Centre. Turn left beyond the sign into Douglas Street. Whin Park is approx 100yds from the turn on the right hand side.

Coming from the South on the A78 follow the road through the town centre and onto the seafront. Continue along the seafront looking out for a brown traffic sign which indicates to National Sports Centre. Turn right beyond the sign into Douglas Street. Whin Park is approx 100yds from the turn on the right hand side.

Coming from the Glasgow area on M8 West access the A737, signposted Irvine; from the M8 just beyond the Airport turn off. Follow the A737 until you reach the roundabout at the junction of the A760, turn right on to the A760 and continue to Kilbirnie.

A the roundabout just past the supermarket take the first exit on the right and at the mini roundabout just beyond the traffic lights turn left and continue to Largs and the traffic lights at the junction with the A78. Turn right onto A78 and follow directions as for coming from the south.

By Train:
Largs railway station is in the centre of the town and is 10- 15 minute walk or a short taxi ride to Whin Park.

By Bus:
There is a direct service from Glasgow to Largs run for City Link by McGill's buses, alight at Douglas Street.

BY Air:
Glasgow International Airport is approx 25miles east from Largs (40/45 minutes by car or taxi or take a bus or taxi to Paisley Gilmour Street railway station for a train to Largs).

Glasgow Prestwick Airport is 25miles south of Largs ( 40/45 minutes by car or taxi or take a train from the airport station to Kilwinning and change to the Largs line or walk out to the main road A79 next to the railway and take the Stagecoach 585 service going to Greenock, approx 1 hour to Largs. Alight at Douglas Street.
