Lochhouse
Farm Retreat Centre, is situated on the Southern Upland Way.
it is a most attractive property nestling beside the river Evan in the
South of Scotland close to the tourist town of Moffat.
There is a delightful courtyard, steading and stone built farmhouse set
in 9 acres of land.
This is an excellent base to explore the south of Scotland
For travellers to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Lochhouse
Farm, situated on Junc.15 of the M74, is an ideal stopover.
It is our dream to redevelop the Farm into a residential holiday centre
offering more accommodation, cottage and communal, recreation facilities
and programmed events, all accessible to the disabled and able-bodied
alike.
Lochhouse Farm Retreat Accommodation
We have two self catering holiday cottages available for each cottage
sleeps 2 to 5.
Shower room off entrance hall is completely accessible to modern standards
and suitable for unassisted wheelchair users.
One large double bedroom with double bed and single bed, wardrobe, and
bedside tables.
Cot or 'Z' bed can be provided if required.
A large conservatory is set off the lounge overlooking the river and is
furnished with a dining table and chairs to seat 4, two comfortable armchairs
and settee, double sofabed, coffee table and storage.
Outside there is an attractive Courtyard to the front of the cottages
where cars can park.
The Farm is set in over 9 acres with the river Evan running through.
There is an Inn close by and we are just over one mile from the Historic
town of Moffat.
When both cottages are hired together the use of the Stables meeting rooms
may be included in the price depending on usage.

There is an entrance hall which leads to a cosy living room with sofa,
Digital LCD flat screen TV/DVD, a wood burning stove in an raised fireplace,
folding dining table and chairs, galley kitchen with 4 burner electric
hob, fridge with ice box, microwave combi-oven, kettle, grill and toaster
plus comprehensive equipment.
Pets welcome
limited to one large or two small dogs per cottage - outside undercover
accommodation is available
Smoking is allowed outside the holiday cottage on the covered walkway.
Our drying facilities and the warm comfortable accommodation will ensure
that you and your kit is ready for the next day.

Southern Upland Way
Situated on the route at the halfway point, Lochhouse Farm is 'Walker
Friendly' and offers value for money comfortable accommodation.
Individual walking agendas can be arranged with luggage
transfer, pick up and drop off as well as laundry and drying facilities.
It offers superb and varied walking country, still undiscovered by many
enthusiasts.
The Way provides a real challenge for the experienced walker, yet some
of the shorter stretches are suitable for families and the less ambitious.
The Southern Uplands have been heavily sculpted and rounded by the effects
of glaciation to leave a series of gently rolling hills with occasional
rocky outcrops.
Nature Watch - Birds, wild flowers, burns, water fowl,
Red Squirrel whatever your interest there is something close by for you
to experience.
The Moffat & District Wildlife Club has developed
and runs a local nature reserve and holds events and competitions throughout
the year.

Biker Territory
Its all about the journey!

The routes take in some of the most amazing hidden gems of Southern Scotland.

Our drying facilities, off road parking and the warm comfortable accommodation
will ensure that you and your kit is ready for the next day.
Activities
Cycling - Dumfries and Galloway boasts some
of the finest mountain bike trails in Scotland.
One of the newest attractions for mountain bikers is the 7 Stanes network
where you can really test your skills.
If that sounds too adventurous then why not link to the network and enjoy
cycling round some of our countryside.
Locally Rik's Bike Shed will be offering guided rides
on cycling routes as well as mountain bike routes.
We also have secure barns to store your bike and an outside hose to wash
your bike.
Fishing
Salmon and Trout Fishing in local Lochs and rivers can be soucred in the
area.
Set in more than 25 acres the Hammerlands Centre in Moffat offers fly
fishing & Course fishing in 7 acres of lakes.
Shooting
Deer Stalking, Game shoots and Clay Pidgeon shooting can be sourced in

Getting there from the Information Centre
From Moffat Tourist Information Centre left onto A701 to M74 and Beattock.
At motorway junction pass under motorway and take second exit off roundabout
signed Beattock. In 50 yards turn right pass in front of old Brig Inn,
follow road round to left. Turn right into Lochhouse Farm Courtyard.
Getting There by Railway
From Dumfries and Locherbie Railway Station we can collect by prior arrangement.
