The Well View Hotel is one of three red star hotels and the only gold
ribbon hotels in Dumfries and Galloway.
Set in half an acre of garden, this Victorian villa has been converted
to a luxury small family run hotel.
It has been awarded a red star by the AA and recently a gold ribbon by
the RAC.
Situated just half a mile from the town centre it has uninterrupted views
over the town and to surrounding hills. Award winning cuisine is complemented
by an extensive wine list.

The small town of Moffat developed as a centre for sheep farming.
The famous Moffat Ram Statue still stands in the town centre.
The town developed as a Spa in Victorian times and rapidly gained popularity
as a tourist centre, which continues to today.
The Well and the Bath House now the Town Hall still exist.
The small local museum gives an excellent insight into Moffat's earlier
life.
Local shops still reflect Moffat's Woollen Heritage, though modern times
have brought a wide range of excellent specialist outlets including books,
antiques, pottery and high quality gifts.
An excellent centre for bird watching, geology, walking, sailing, fishing,
golf, pony-trekking etc.
Former residents of Moffat were Lord Dowding - the architect of The Battle
of Britain, Robert McAdam - the pioneer of Tarmacadam.

We are ideally situated for both strenuous and gentle walks in some of
Scotland's undiscovered hills.
We have prepared several Day and Half-day car tours round our beautiful
unspoilt country

spectacularly beautiful countryside.

Getting there from the Information Centre
From Moffat Tourist Information Centre go to town centre, follow Selkirk
Road A708 for 0.5 mile, turn left into Ballplay Road, Well View Hotel
is 300 yards on right.
