Oban hotel Dina, Brian and Michael would like to welcome you to Don Muir Guest House and we hope that your stay here with us will be both comfortable and enjoyable.

Don Muir Guest House is situated in a quiet residential area only a 3 minute walk from the Pulpit Hill viewpoint overlooking Oban Bay and surrounding islands.

The house has been upgraded to a very high standard and offers comfortable bed & breakfast accommodation providing genuine highland hospitality.

Don-Muir Accommodation

We have 3 double ensuite rooms named after Scottish West Coast Islands, you can have the Barra Room, the Mull Room or the Colonsay Room.

All rooms are equipped with TV, hairdryer, hospitality tray, heating and many more extras to make your stay most enjoyable. We have parking for up to 4 cars and a large public free car park at the viewpoint for those with bigger vehicles.

Open all year except Xmas. During the winter months October-February we are able to accommodate Lodgers / Workers in the area. This can be on a Room Only basis or a Bed & Breakfast basis (Monday-Friday).

Breakfast
Traditional Scottish breakfast is served in our small but interesting dining room. Breakfasts are usually served between 7.30 and 9am weekdays and 8.00am - 9.00am on Sundays. If catching an early ferry then continental breakfast can be left for you in either the dining room or in some of the bedrooms, or feel free to take it away with you

For a truly good start to your day, a short walk to the viewpoint where the views of Oban Bay and the surrounding islands is both breathtaking and magical. Upon your return, enjoy a traditional and generous Scottish breakfast.

Packed lunches are also available (24 hr notice, needed) at a cost per person. We have tried to ensure your room has everything that you require but if you NEED anything else please let us know.

We try to recycle as much as possible and would appreciate you separating and leaving plastics, glass, papers etc in your room for us to collect and recycle.

Check out – We would appreciate rooms being vacated by 10.15am. If for any reason you require more time then please speak to us to arrange this.

Attractions and Activities
Oban, "The Gateway to the Isles" sits on a small sheltered bay. The Islands of Kerrera lies just off the coast and further in the distance the hills of Mull are visible.

Above the town site McCaigs Tower, the Colloseum like structure built 100 years ago by local banker, John Stuart McCaig. It offers superb panoramic views of the town and the Islands.

There are a wealth of restaurants and cafes with excellent local seafood readily available. Glencruitten Golf Club is close at hand and walkers will find the surrounding countryside offers plenty of good walks.

Further afield Argyll has many castles, grand houses and gardens, distilleries and stunning scenery.

Directions to Don Muir Guest House:
Turn right into Albany Street follow signs for ferry terminal and Gallananach. Over railway bridge, sign for Pulpit Hill and Crannaig A Minister. Straight up the hill, round next corner is Don Muir.
