Welcome to the Kimberley Hotel, Oban. The Hotel has recently been acquired by Brian and Valerie McGee who successfully owned and ran a smaller 4 Star Guest House in the Oban for the past 8 years. The Hotel had previously been run under management, however Brian and Valerie have created a private apartment within the building and are always on hand to attend to your every need. Whilst the Hotel retains its Victorian charm, Valerie has been busy adding her own personal touches to the rooms to make them even more appealing. The Hotel itself is a hidden gem secluded by private gardens yet only 2 minutes from the main street. From its elevated position you have fine views over the Bay of Oban towards Kerrera and Mull. Kimberley House AccommodationThe main entrance leads in to a large hall dominated by a beautiful marble fireplace which has recently been opened up again providing a welcoming atmosphere. All bedrooms are en suite with either bath or shower and have televisions, tea/coffee making facilities and delicious homemade tablet. There are twelve letting bedrooms, two of which have super king size four poster beds. One is on the ground floor and the other on the first floor. Both have magnificent sea views of Oban Bay and the Islands of Kerrera and Mull. These are spacious rooms with seating areas within the turret of the house. Room 9, again on the first floor, has an uninterrupted view from its bay window out towards Mull. Relax on the chaise longue and watch the boats ply in and out of Oban. The bed in this room is a super king sleigh bed. Room 18 is a twin room at the top of the house which has two king size sleigh beds so can be used as a twin or family room. Room 16 is a large room with King size sleigh bed and a single bed with further pull out single bed. All the other rooms have king size sleigh beds and most rooms have sea views. Some are large enough to accommodate a third Z bed on request. Dining Breakfast is served in the conservatory which has stunning views out towards the Sound of Mull. Take a leisurely breakfast and watch the boats coming in and out of the bay. There is a substantial choice of fresh fruits, cereal, cheeses and home made preserves from the side board, not forgetting Valerie's home made Clootie dumpling.
